A VERY HIGH QUALITY PISTACHIO VARIETY IN OUR RANGE
WE HAVE VACCINATED SEEDLINGS and appropriate pollinators

Pistacia vera 'Pontekes'
is a female variety of the frost-resistant pistachio tree, valued for its high yields and quality fruits. A male variety such as 'Delta' or 'Peters' is required for successful pollination and fruit production.
Characteristics and cultivation

Growth: It is an upright growing shrub or small tree with fast growth, which in Czech conditions grows to a height of 2-2.5 meters.
Fruits: The fruits are medium-sized (approx. 0.96–0.99 g), oval in shape, with a green core inside a brownish-red shell, which opens on one side when ripe. The core is tasty and mildly aromatic.
Ripeness and harvest: The fruits ripen and are harvested in August to September.
Resistance: The variety is frost-resistant and also suitable for cultivation in our latitudes, if a warm and sunny habitat and permeable soil are provided. Waterlogging and acidic soil do not suit her.
Pollination: As a female plant, it needs a male pollinator for pollination and fruit formation, Pistacia vera varieties 'Delta', 'Peters' or 'Gama' are recommended.

Diospyros kaki ´Honan Red´ - japanese persimmon / trees from own production in summer - SUMMER 2026/

The variety of Japanese persimmon ('kaki') called
'Honan Red' is a self-pollinating tree that produces medium-sized, deep red fruits with a rich, sweet flavor and smooth texture. The fruits are considered astringent until fully ripe and soft.
Characteristics and cultivation
The variety 'Honan Red' is valued for its high fertility and good disease resistance.

Fruits: Medium-sized (180–220 g), deep red-orange in color when ripe and acorn-shaped. The flesh is soft, fiber-free and very sweet when ripe. The fruits are astringent (containing tannins) until they soften completely, which usually occurs in October to November, often after the first frost.
Tree: A deciduous tree that grows to a height of about 3.5–5 metres (12–16 ft) when mature. In autumn, the leaves turn attractive shades of red and orange.
Cultivation: Requires a sunny, sheltered position, ideally against a south-facing wall, and well-drained, humus-rich soil. Young plants are recommended to be protected for the winter, although the tree can withstand frosts down to about -15°C to -20°C.
Self-fertility: The variety 'Honan Red' is self-fertile (self-fertile), so it does not require a pollinator to produce fruit. The fruit often contains very few or no seeds.

A somewhat forgotten variety from a cross between second-generation resistant persimmons

Diospyros x hybrida 'Pamjať Pasenkova' syn. ´Memory of Pasenko´

- hardy persimmon/ diospyros lotus /SUMMER 2026/

(Czech: tomel) is a highly resistant hybrid variety created by crossing Japanese persimmon (Diospyros kaki) and American persimmon (Diospyros virginiana). This variety was bred with the aim of combining the excellent taste of Asian persimmons with the frost resistance of American species.

Main characteristics:
Origin and breeding: One of the direct parents of this variety is the well-known hybrid 'Rossijanka'.
Frost resistance: Thanks to its hybrid origin, it is highly resistant to low temperatures, which allows it to be grown year-round in open soil even in the climatic conditions of Central Europe.
Fruit: It belongs to the so-called "hardy persimmons" (frost-resistant tomelos). The fruit is valued for its quality and sweet taste when ripe.
Habitat: It requires a sunny and warm location, ideally protected from strong winds (e.g., near the south wall of a building).
Soil: Prefers nutritious, well-drained soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0–6.5).
Availability: In Czech specialized nurseries, this variety is usually offered grafted onto Diospyros lotus or Diospyros virginiana rootstocks for better adaptation to local soil conditions.

TODAY I GRAFTED ANOTHER RESISTANT AMERICAN VARIETY
Diospyros virginiana ‘Geneva Red’

(Virginia persimmon) is a frost-resistant cultivar native to North America, highly valued for its hardiness and fruit quality in temperate zones.

Key characteristics
Frost resistance: One of the most resistant varieties, tolerating temperatures down to –30 °C. Thanks to its late budding, it usually escapes spring frosts.
Fruit: Medium-sized (approx. 80–100 g), oval-shaped and orange-red in color.
Flavor: The fruit is very sweet; the flavor is often compared to apricot with a hint of chocolate or rum aroma.
Self-pollination: The variety is listed as self-pollinating, which means that one tree is sufficient for fruiting.
Harvest: Ripens in the first half of October. The fruit is best eaten after it has softened completely (overripe), when it loses its initial tartness.

Cultivation
Habitat: Prefers a sunny to semi-shaded location with well-drained, slightly moist, nutrient-rich soil.
Growth: The tree grows moderately fast and starts bearing fruit relatively early. It reaches a height of 10-15 meters, but in gardens it is often pruned to remain a smaller fruit tree.
Use: In addition to direct consumption, the fruits are suitable for drying, making jams, or as an ingredient in desserts. The leaves can be used to make tea rich in vitamin C.

In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, this variety is considered an ideal choice for beginners due to its undemanding nature and ability to survive harsh winters.
