A Minidisc, a Pioneer 200 and One Email

I never planned to become a DJ. I didn’t have the money for it, the connections, or the right surname.

What I had was a Minidisc recorder, an obsessive relationship with music, and the blind conviction that if I just sent the right email to the right person, something might happen.

A vinyl DJ on taping music off TV as a kid, one cold email that started a career, and what democratizing DJing actually cost the scene.

Hello friends,

Today I got the urge to remind myself what's hiding in my vinyl archive. No plan, no tracklist prepared in advance — just a random dig through boxes of records I haven't touched in a while.

Mainly wanted to listen. And share some beautiful tunes along the way.

This one goes deep into minimal — minimal house, minimal techno, that slow-burning European sound from 2006–2010 that still hits differently on vinyl. Records from Germany, France, the US.
