Honestly, I don’t read that much recently. I observe sun and moon, pet my dog, sleep, swim, practice yoga, cook, go for walks. I keep it simple. And although part of me would love to jump into piece of good fiction, I just breath in, breathe out and watch the sun goes down.

I read it as quick as the car can get on American, empty roads. I couldn’t stop, although because of the load of emotions there I should take a break or two. But Monika Muskala’s writing gets you inside, the landscape she sees becomes your inner landscape, the people she meets seems to be so close to you as the reader, that you can hear their voice and smell their breath. I don’t know if you learn anything new about USA but you may about human nature tangled with psychology, politics and the angle that sun touches the dessert ground.
If you don’t speak Polish sign for your classes or get a publisher who will publish it in your desired language. nisza thank you for taking care of my reading experiences 🫶🏻

I’ve been elsewhere last months (in very passive on-line mode) but it seems there is nothing that this lady can’t improve. No better inspiration, no better cheer up, no better motivation. She, and my friends too but she works on the first aid line and I can’t be more grateful I do have her in my life.

We met with half of long before this publishing house was established. She was a regular on the bookstore and café I was working at that time. We made friends and soon after she left Warsaw. I had no idea where is she, how is she, our paths lead us different directions and I took it as it was. And suddenly I got invitation for her hen party and when we met there, her first words were “I have a great job opportunity for you, if you’re interested”. So I moved to Cracow with her great help and support and I met the other half of this publishing house, still probably long time before this idea was born.
I could write a Book about how much this couple inspired me with their beautiful and true way they live their uncommon lives, how they do what they love, how they focus on the smallest and important details but don’t loose overview.
Ladies and gentlemen, are also tmrw at in Troja, Prague.
Their books are exactly as they are themselves, trully amazing.

It’s been a while since I was writing here about books, huh? I am still reading, will probably never stop, but now I combine novels with “Zero waste patterns” and manual to sewing machine.
This picture is wonderful memory from absolutely brilliant time with and (the author of the picture). Such a time we had, so dear to my heart!
And yes, I’m wearing kimono I made with my beloved as our minimum waste project .lato If you want your unique piece, I’ll be more than happy to provide you with one! &

Today in Czech there is Čarodějnice - a day of making bonfires to protect bad luck, as according to tradition fire has a cleansing power. In Irish tradition, Beltine is a symbol of new begging and in that day you put down all fire and make a new one (don’t ask me, where is the logic, I feel the beauty of fire in it’s constant, that it’s the same ever since and everywhere, but what do I know). It all combines with belief in witches and especially here, in alchemists Prague, this tradition remained strong.
In this day I think about women accused for being witches, for free minds who suffered. I think about my favourite female writers, like Magdalena Tulli, Helen Oyeyemi or Tove Janson. I think about how late I let myself discover the power of sisterhood, even though one thing I’ve been sure since ever: that I have been always surrounded by amazing, inspiring, strong and gentle, intelligent, smart, funny, inspiring women, girls, ladies, fairies, witches and all the rest, however you define yourself.
I am more than grateful for having you, for teaching and inspiring me. I salute all my witches 🧙
Pic was shot in Venice by my lovely witch ❤️

The sky was covered with milky clouds, no particular sunshine, just some light, which makes perfect conditions for getting sick and reading books. And maybe for sending your astral body somewhere else.
What would you say for Aran Islands?
I spent in Ireland second half of 2023, mostly in Dublin, but I did few little trips. One of them lead to the Alantic ocean.
It was November, sky was blue and sun was shining, suprisingly for most of the passangers of a bus and definetly for a great suprise of the guide. With such weather I spotted Aran Islands easily. Maybe, one day, I thought.
After reading “Walls of Aran” I think that one day for sure.
Every piece of this puzzle, that was my Irish experience, came together into one picture and created a vision of very rough beauty. All Irish movies (while I was laughing in different moments then locals), literature (Beckett! Joyce!) that I never actually felt like my voice but it didn’t stop me from finding it amazing and a little mysterious, all my relationships I gained there, all views I am keeping in my memory and all splashes of the waves, the salty and fishy smell of the sea - thanks to Colm Tóibín’s story and Scully’s picture, it all connected and gained some deeper meaning.
I was told these two gentlemen haven’t met while@working on this book, the more I appreciate work of the curator of that project, some anonymous from publishing house. Putting together these two minds in that unique circumstances as Aran Islands are, was a recipe for a piece that digs that deep where precious stones are found.
Tony O’Shea , I am extremely grateful for sharing this book with me, thank you, again!

I thought it’s 18th of April today, so it was coinsidence, that I read this page this morning and it resonated with me so much. I keep on repeating “I don’t have any opinion” since a while, when I don’t feel I know the topic, I don’t have knowledge about the field, I feel I don’t have enough information, I don’t feel it’s necessary or simply I don’t have capacity for it. Sometimes, I use it as a sarcastic way to say I don’t like something but I have no impact on it.
Honestly, my heart is totally with this idea.
Following this path and not having opinions on everything immediately makes you few kilos lighter and a little happier, try it! Are you aware how much of your time it takes to put your nose into all businesses around or what emotional impact it brings to the world, to you?
And in general, try this book. You don’t need to be regular reader, it form gives a lot of freedom to read it the way that suits you. And it may be very rewarding!

“Tefil” didn’t fit my luggage when after Christmas I was leaving Warsaw to Prague. But it was waiting patiently on the bookshelf while I was getting used to Prague again after six months in Ireland, while I was baking bread and sewing kimonos, while I was enjoying my dolce vita in Venice. It was waiting to hit me, strong punch right into my nose, to stop me exactly where I was and leave me speechless and armless. It’s like reading Beckett and Hrabal for the first time and I am not even in the half of Rafał Wojasiński’s novel. nisza as always, fearless and strong with offering valuable literature and providing precious moments with books, thank you!

It took short travel to discover this treasure. Short flight and there I was, at the showroom for Olivetti typewriters by Carlo Scarpa on the very centre of Venice, at Piazza San Marco. Don’t spread the word, the place is perfect as it is - quiet and pure. Just go yourself and breathe, explore, feel this circulation of energy, let the beauty surround you. I have no words for such design, standing strong and still on the years of experience and wisdom. Olivetti and Scarpa are perfect match!
After seeing this japanese style showroom for beautiful design in industry, be ready to hold a new dream, of owning Lettera 22 in red. Or yellow. Or any other, actually. Oh, and a breathtaking studio to hang out there with your new beauty.
thank you for putting this gem on our must see list! thank you for encouraging us to see this place especially.

I know about the book for over 15 years but I can’t imagine I could actually READ that one before. Maybe it’s some phase of my life, maybe it’s being under the spell of esoteric and alchemist Czech Republic, maybe inspiration were beautiful women around me, probably combination of all of that and I take it as it is. I got “The woman who run with wolves” from beautiful couple when I was leaving to Ireland and after 8 months I finally opened it. Right now this topic became ripe for me and I feel ready to explore and take this adventure.
I wish all girls and women to be kind to themselves, to keep their minds open and to celebrate woman’s day everyday.
I’m pushing start on “Wild thing” song and I start to read.

With my little trust in Irish and Czech post office service, it was lovely surprise to get package of such precious books! I love not only the esence (by this I mean pictures themselves), but also the form of the publication. made such a stunning work with that great shoots! There are no introductions, no text beside what you see on the cover. Pure pictures are collected into six little books, notebook size, published in paperback, but what catches the eye is mostly the quality of print and editing. That wouldn’t let you pass it by without taking a moment to read this visual notebook of Irish history: Christmas Turkey market 1990-1993, Border roads 1990-1994, Ways of the cross, Italia 90 Dublin (on football), South Kerry Regattas, Never forget (on IRA attack). They go with a black case and keep them together, as multiple layers of Irish history and culture.
Thank you, for such a beautiful gift!
P.S. On the last picture you see my bored companion who prefers to play with a toy bone.
