DRINKING TEA AS A BEAUTIFUL HABIT

- be present, stillness

- resting in beauty

-  scene that I will enjoy for at least forty-five minutes

- Finally getting up and starting ag*in, maybe differently, with greater joy and peace.

All you need is good tea, good quality water, beauty and  functional teawares and creating beautiful place that will serve as a "TEA STAGE" (chaxi).

A tea stage that can bring me or my guests peace and a pleasant aesthetic experience. It depends on the intention. :-) A chaxi can include a CHABU.

WHAT IS A CHABU

Fabric Runner as a base for preparing tea (tea runner).

I imported very beautiful African hand-woven and vegetable indigo-dyed fabrics from Morocco. We have just created many tea runners and travel tea bags from them.

We have light blue and dark blue.

INDIGO BLUE BRINGS deep peace, rest to the eyes, mental and body relaxation.

I RECOMMEND THIS CHABU TO EVERYONE

More about this fabric in the comments.

Dear friends,

New TREASURES from my afternoon visit to Morocco. Beautiful fabrics from which I will make chaba (tea runners) and tea travel bags.

MY STORY

Many of you know me here as the creator of ceramics and the creator of photos of tea scenes in my tea room. I LOVE MY TEA ROOM and that is why I decided to expand my tea room to the world, to GIVE ITS ATMOSPHERE TO YOU. This time it will be beautiful fabrics suitable for a tea ceremony.

STORY OF THE INDIGO FABRIC

Indico fabric from our collection of textiles hand woven and INDIGO DYE from  Dogon tribe from Mali and Mossi and Dioula tribe in Burkina Faso. Textiles are not new but semi-antiq (50-80 years old).

The FABRICS are older, original, have a soul and it was necessary to restore them very much. It was very nicely restored by my wife (  ) and it took a lot of work and she was very careful. Everything is fixed by hand.

THE  BLUE color is amazing, deep and has STRONG CALMIING CHARACTER. For me, this beautiful blue helps to clear my body, eyes and mind. It's like looking at the sea.

I will gradually show you more treasures from my last trip in Morocco.

SO FOLLOW ME NOW SO YOU DON'T MISS IT

GAIWAN has been the traditional ware for preparing tea in China since the beginning of the MING DYNASTY around 1350. Also called g*i wan or g*ibei (covered bowl or cup). The g*iwan is used for both preparing tea to cup or directly for drinking a tea. Its functionality, simple elegance, and ease of use, the g*iwan is a widely used teaware in China.

Beautiful pictures from

You CAN FlND CHAWAN and other teaware in their collection of unique creation.

I used  primitive technique of handbuilding known as TEZUKUNE [a slab-forming technique].

"Tezukune [a slab-forming technique] with no wheel intervening between the hand and the clay. What you feel with your hands and your whole body, and see with your eyes, is what you get. That’s how we create tea bowls endowed with the warmth and gentle rounded form of a human hand."

Morocco (spring 2026)

Awake by the muezzin and his call to prayer, or by the sun, or by the rooster.

Morning msemmen, a local type of pancake. I like with with honey, or  thick morning beans soup, bissara, with olive oil and chubzun (Moroccan bread). Anyway, green tea with both. Often just strong Chinese green gunpowder... Always sweetened tea. Simly green tea for bissara, or with wormwood. Always mint tea for msemmen.

After breakfast I walk past small shops with incense: camphor, myrrh, incense, various oriental mixtures, sandalwood, agarwood.

I walk past the entrances to mosques, to shops with handmade carpets, jewelry, clothes, shoes... Small, small, small... All the shops are small and next to each other. Mostly You can see  owner of shop, how he sit inside.

In the meantime, another bistro with bissara, msemen, tea or coffee.

Joy, a small space, a few stools, a table and one teapot, one pot of soup.

I am in the medina, for example in Fez, my beloved old district... My attention goes to the walls, to the plaster, to the cement ornamental tiles, to the touch... I am in a large gallery, from romanticism, impressionism (the play of light, the softness of colors but also of forms) to abstraction... I stop, I am absorbed by the beauty that was created only by chance. The palette of colors, beauty of bricks, wood, plaster... Time created beauty scene  "A color abstraction... the diversity of materials." A perfect painting.

And I always stop somewhere, drink tea, browse the shops... I sit with the locals people over tea...

In every city I find my favorite place, where I return daily, where the nice locals people are... I so-called waste time, I linger, I observe, I am ready and anything from conversations to giving and taking. I let myself be hosted, I host. Here I get tea, there I offer tea... Here I put my hand to work, here I just sit and observe. Slowly I  put down roots!

So this is my travel... "I don't see much of that in that country". I am just an admirer of the microworld, lover of still lifes, human hearts and lives. I take time over tea, I sit, I look, I listen, I smell...
