Matthieu Schweiger tried this combination (of 2 instruments) with pleasure, he is open to new ideas and challenges and here is the result.
Combination instruments were made at the second half of the 18th century because both new instrument (piano action) and the Harpsichord were popular and the harpsichord was by no means experiencing any decline yet! the era of co-existing instruments, era of many sound colors and sound effects produced by handstops and pedals. Ferrini made harpsichord-pianos with 2 manuals, Hellen made harpsichord-pianos with one manual (also Merlin) and some made tangent piano and harpsichord combined...
We don't have any of them but could simply have this combination which is 100% hitorically correct but still can be offending to watch for those who think this didn't exist!
In any case, this simple idea is from Pooya Radbon which could have appeared earlier by someone else!
