We are transgressing the laws of physics again today and existing in two places at once.
You can find Órla at Stand H12 at the Berliner Bücherfest until 19:00 (and again tomorrow) and Dave is in the shop as usual until 18:00.

There's a full programme of readings and a wide range of publishers and bookshops represented at the Bücherfest, so it's well worth a visit!

This evening's event with Gregor Hens is sold out. If you didn't manage to book a (free) ticket, we will operate a waiting list, in case of no-shows. We'll also set up a speaker outside, so people can listen out in the fresh air of Lausitzer Platz.

28/05/2025

As tomorrow (Thu. 29.05) is a public holiday, the shop will be closed. We are open on Friday and Saturday as per usual.

Today we celebrate the right to read. We stand in solidarity with booksellers around the world to say

At 3pm on 9 Feb. 2025, booksellers Mahmoud and Ahmad Muna were arrested at the Educational Bookshop in Jerusalem, handcuffed and taken to prison. Over 250 books were confiscated, some of them have since been returned. Two days later, Mahmoud and his nephew Ahmad were released, albeit under stringent conditions.

We must rally to protect the freedom to read, which includes the freedom to run a bookshop.
Booksellers are not criminals.
