Flametop Friday folks! 🔥 I‘m usually not that big into flame top guitars. But I really couldn’t resist this super rare full spec 2012 Gil Yaron 59 Burst Clone. Those guitars are regarded as some of the best and closest replicas of these legendary holy grail sunburst Les Pauls. All old wood. The attention to detail is as amazing as the sound of this beast. Slightly mid forward tone with mildly compressed treble result in a bloom that is pretty much how I always imagined Rev Billy G‘s famous Pearly Gates to sound like. What really knocks me over are Gil‘s own A5 and A4 long magnet PAF clones. Very close to the original 50s PAFs I compared them to.
Of course I couldn’t resist to put a set of authentic St. Helens vintage replica hardware on.
This guitar is up for grabs since I am a Gold Top guy after all. So reach out if you want to know more. There may not be another one available in Europe any time soon.

I seem to be spending my entire allowance on St. Helens hardware these days. The low profile ABR-1 goes on this ultra cool 1958 ES335, one of the very first ever made and previously owned by Neal Schon. Save the original but not lose the tone of the original. Always great to have options 😋

On the bench: Replacing the stock hardware of this drop dead gorgeous 2012 Gil Yaron 59 Burst Replica for a set of St. Helens, the most authentic and best sounding vintage replica hardware I know. Will make this killer sounding guitar sound even more killer. Pinky promise. 🤙 Using Gerhards own Slot Machine and PIT tools makes this work as easy as changing strings 😋

What a treat. 🤩 Three stunningly amazing early 50s Les Paul Models with 57 style PAF conversion in the same room (my studio 😋). All different but also equally great players. One is already gone, one is spoken for and one is still available.

🚨 Gold Top PAF Alert ‼️
Today I had the honor of evaluating and testing one of the maybe five best guitars I’ve ever laid my hands on. This 1957 Les Paul Gold Top sounds absolutely spectacular. Piano like lows, angelic highs a complex mid range and sustain for days. So beautifully balanced and dynamic. It’s been with the current owner since 1985. Apart from an old top overspray, and mid 60s tuners with adapter bushings all parts are original to the guitar and it of course free of any breaks or funky woodwork.
I seriously hope to win the lottery before this one sells. 🤞
