End of an Era: Anne Terpstra's Final Races ❤️‍🔥

13 years as a professional mountain biker, her medical career put on hold to make it happen - Anne Terpstra has given it her all. We caught up with her at one of her final races before she steps away from pro MTB and moves on to new, exciting things.

In the interview, she also walks us through her current ride: the Lapierre XR 10.9 🔥 Packed with RockShox Flight Attendant, SRAM XX SL and FSA Rope-Spoke wheels, this bike has everything you could ask for. What actually happens in the pits on a Wednesday, long before the racing starts? 🔧

Short answer: almost everything. We were at the MTB World Cup in Les Gets and got a tour of the RockShox truck. Teams drop off their gear on Wednesday morning, nine technicians work through cleaning, inspection, oil changes and track-specific tuning – and by the evening everything is back and ready for Thursday's first practice.

Setting up the whole pit: 90 minutes. Tearing it down: 45. Then the truck rolls on to the next race.

We got our hands on the Marin Quake frameset and transformed it, component by component, into exactly what it was built for: drops, berms, and fast park laps.

The RockShox BoXXer Ultimate fork (200 mm travel) and Vivid Coil Ultimate shock give the frame the suspension its freeride character deserves: linear, controlled, sensitive to small bumps, and plush on big landings. Bike oder Bahn? Diese Frage stellt sich wohl so manch ein Großstadtpendler. Doch warum nicht beides. Gerade wenn die kleinen Wege zwischendurch dann doch zu weit sind, man auf Urlaubsreisen ein wenig mehr extra Mobilität hätte, wenn der Platz zu Hause oder im Büro knapp ist dann trumpft das einzigartige Faltsystem der Bikes von Brompton auf.
