September 8, 1992… Sweet Oblivion dropped, and Screaming Trees were about to get the recognition they deserved.

Their sixth album, but the one that really broke through. Then came “Nearly Lost You,” landing on the Singles soundtrack and suddenly Screaming Trees were everywhere, right in the middle of that Seattle grunge explosion. Over 300,000 copies sold, and honestly… this album just hit different.

Mark Pickerel had stepped away from the drums, and Barrett Martin came in, bringing a whole new energy and power to the band.
Sweet Oblivion is one of those records that takes me straight back. Gritty. Raw. A little dark. Completely Seattle.

What a fu*king time that was. The music, the scene, the memories… you just can’t recreate it.
