Anagama firing Shiro Oni Studio

feeling nostalgic, it’s been almost a year since i participated in the artist residency in japan, and somehow i never really shared much of the process. want to open that now, here..

remembering the celebration of coming together and creating, pure, raw work, patience, the chemistry of brutal elements: wood and fire, and results that are both unexpected and deeply satisfying.

altogether it took 3 days to glaze and load the kiln,
3.5 day of firing day and night and a village to feed us and entertain )

i brought a dozen pieces back home, and by now all of them have found their people, and i know each person who carries them, personally ❤️

that experience then allowed me to step out of my box, to open up to new ideas, which are now grounded into my practice.

coming back to these memories now feel much needed, as it’s so easy to sink into routine and stay with what feels clear and unchanging.

it’s spring - let’s step out and bloom again!

New pieces are now available in the online shop.

You’ll find cups, bowls, plates and more from the new ZEME collection, alongside a selection of other works.

Some pieces are offered on a pre-order basis — please don’t hesitate to order, if something speaks to you, it helps me plan my production more intentionally. At the moment, I’m focusing on developing new forms and will be recreating my core collection only on demand.

And if you are in Hamburg, feel free to stop by the Koppel 66 Spring Fair this weekend, 27–29 March, from 11:00 to 19:00. All studios in the house will be open, you’ll find mine on the second floor.

You’re also welcome to pick up your orders during that time.

winter 2026 ~

This winter was long and white. The days in the studio seemed to fly by; I felt, somehow, as though I was keeping pace with them;

hours upon hours spent at the wheel, working toward what would be finished come spring. And truly, that winter felt like a beginning, a season for laying foundations.

- prototyping and finishing work for .hamburg
- prototyping and still working on a new glaze for
- preparing new work for upcoming fair at our
- making little collaboration with happen and
- bigger plates as a private order, also to add to my permanent collection

Looking back, it seems the work leaned heavily into whites and browns - quiet and earthy. But with spring came a longing for something brighter, a hunger for color that the long pale season had been quietly building all along. Hopefully soon…
