Niche Luxury Candles inspired by the Elegance of Fine Living. I am an Artist born in London and raised in West Africa. I'm currently based in Amsterdam. Karimah

I trained as a Painter before working as an Interior Designer in London. For some time, I've longed to create a space to connect with like-minded people and share pieces I design and collect from around the world, so I started Pieces of the Cloud. Most pieces are hand-crafted in my West African studio by a small team, with an ethical sensitivity. POTC's aesthetic is elegant and pared-down, with a

sense of eclecticism owing to my multicultural heritage. I'm so passionate about living consciously and honestly - empowering African Artisans and creating all-round happiness and fulfilment. Thanks for popping by!

This is your reminder that you hold the key to your own happiness.

10 years ago, when I was drawn to making candles, I had my first consultation with a well known candle maker in London.

At the end of the consultation, I bought one of her candles. Later, when I lit it, I was so disappointed.

The scent throw was practically non-existent - it contained beeswax, though clean burning, is non vegan and often traps fragrance from emitting. I instinctively knew I could do better.

At the time, I was about to go full-time as an artist and starting my own candle brand just didn’t seem sustainable, so I shelved the idea.

Fast forward 10 years later, I have lived in places like Amsterdam, Paris, Lagos, and Hamburg. I am a successful artist 🙋🏽‍♀️.

I have trained as a candle maker in the Cote d'Azur and honed my knowledge. I have an 8 month baby! And finally I feel “ready” 😂

The truth is, it was always within my reach, I just had to believe and align with it.

So there are times when your wildest dreams may seem out of reach, and this is totally normal. But a life lived with courage is much better than a life lived with regrets, isn’t it?
