Inside view of a hurdy-gurdy from the 18th century.

This is not the first time that the body has been opened. Cracks in the top have already been reinforced from below. The bottom has two large cracks and is badly warped.
Otherwise the instrument is in good condition. After the repair it will be in a permanently stable and playable condition again. Revival of a hurdy-gurdy...

Separating the bottom of a 18th century hurdy-gurdy. The heavily deformed and cracked bottom requires special attention to bring the instrument back into a permanently stable and playable condition.

18th century hurdy-gurdy Louvet and Lambert in the workshop. Unfortunately the Lambert is not in a playing condition. But it is in a perfect condition to see all details of the 18th century hurdy-gurdy making. Soon we will open the Louvet for a repair of the bottom.
