Mein Vater ist heute Nacht mit 97 Jahren friedlich eingeschlafen.

Ich werde jetzt zur Familie ins Sauerland fahren.

Einladung zur Präsentation des Krefeld- Quilts!
Das kreative Gemeinschaftsprojekt für Krefeld!

Nähen verbindet – und genau darum haben im Mai Krefelder*innen jeden Alters, mit und ohne Näherfahrung, in einem offenen Mitmach-Projekt gemeinsam an einem großen Quilt gearbeitet.

So lief es ab:
Die Teilnehmenden wählten bunte Stoffquadrate und -streifen, nähten ihren persönlichen Block und signierten ihn. Diese Blöcke wurden zu einem beeindruckenden Gesamt Quilt, Größe: 2,65 m x 2,50 m zusammengesetzt – als buntes Zeichen für Kreativität und Zusammenhalt in unserer Stadt.

Jetzt ist er fertig und hängt im Studio– und wir feiern das gemeinsam!

Save the Date!
While I am literally packing my suitcases, flying to APQS/Iowa first, then further to Houston International Quilt Festival next week, I can´t wait to tell you about our upcoming event in the "Alte Brotfabrik" shortly after my arrival back in Germany =D
I will exhibit an excellent selection of quilts from the Ukrainian Quilter's Association in the Quilt-Studio & Galerie "Alte Brotfabrik".
I am sooooo happy and proud, really thrilled to have an international debut of ONE Special quilt! A group of Ukrainian quilters collaborated in a huuuuuuuuuuuge, wonderful, amazing, magical - 17 feet x 8 1/4 feet ( 6 Meter x 2,5 Meter) quilt!
If you are looking at the second picture, in the lower right corner - you can see a glimpse of it!😎
The event at the Im Brahm will be very exciting, something not to miss =D 😎

This weekend, 20 years ago - my life changed completely! =D
As a first-time vendor at a Quilt show in Alsace /France, I had the best booth neighbors ever! :)
APQS from Iowa was next to me.... and their magical "Millie" - aka Longarm machine- caught my full attention ( instead of working in my own booth ;) ).
I couldn´t resist, I couldn´t get my fingers loosened from the handles .... no chance at all =D - I wanted to (longarm) quilt!
Call it love from the 1st second, addiction, or destiny - maybe all of it! =D I got hooked!
And after 20 years I am still bonded with my Millie, Freddie, and Lucey - what a journey of successful quilting for my customers and me, uncountable stitches and miles of thread, tons of (P)fun with Longarmer friends, happy students and thousands of flown miles across the globe to teach.
Of course - I ordered a Millie - otherwise, I would not be the artist, the person, the quilter, or the teacher I am today!
Thank you for your wonderful machines and company!

Found a weak hedgehog this afternoon in the courtyard of our "Im Brahm Brotfabrik" - flies were already swirling around 😔I called the local hedgehog station, brought it to them. Two hours later, after examanination, a bath to relax and cleaning, free'd of ticks, infusions and antibiotica - she (yes and about 5 years old) is now resting and recovering at the rescue station😊🙏
I had to give her a name: "Brahmi" 😁
This couple is doing everything on a voluntary basis🙄, my respect 👍
No doubt that I went "shopping" on their wish-list on big A😎

Ohhhh, I totally forgot to mention: today was judging day for the Patchwork Gilde Deutschland e.V. here in the Studio - 3 judges, 16 quilts, a hard choice - but we made it😊 Utopia was the theme! Winners will be announced tomorrow at the opening at the in Moers. It will be a super quilty weekend and I am looking forward to it! 😁
