Mein Name ist Phil Wheeler, nennt mich Philthy 😉 Schon von klein auf fesselt mich das Thema Gitarren, Bässe und Musik. Meine Leidenschaft zur Musik, Mosrite, Höfner und Rickenbacker Instrumenten, möchte ich mit euch teilen. Ich freue mich immer wieder auf regen Gesprächs-austausch und will hier auch mit meinem Angebot an Instrumenten die

se an euch bringen. Bei mir bekommt Ihr auch vermackte und runtergerockte Instrumente. Warum auch nicht – Das ist Charakter und die Instrumente haben Ihre Geschichte, solange Sie technisch in einem einwandfreien Zustand sind. Natürlich besitze ich auch Instrumente der üblichen Hersteller und werde auch von diesen Marken hin und wieder eine Gitarre oder Bass anbieten. Es freut mich immer riesig, wenn ich einen fertigen Auftrag an euch zurückgeben kann….das Lachen, die Freude und das Grinsen….es macht mich sehr Glücklich und ich finde genau so sollte es sein, dass beide Zufrieden sind. A nice rare Hofner 175 II tele has left my restoring bench and is ready to cut down some wood...wood of other guitars, because this 175 II is a sustain monster 😁 you hit a note and it sings and sings. A guitar that really makes fun to play. Its listed in the Shop, get it

Same spot, same model - just a few years later. A beautiful 60s sunburst Höfner 182 enjoying a sunbath by the sea in the Netherlands before I take it home for restoration. Soon to be freshly revived after the holidays 😉😊

Golden slumber 🍁🍂

A 1966 Hofner 500/1 bass with custom gold top finish shines in the late golden autumn sun. I always wanted to spray a gold top finish on a violin bass and this here was the perfect base for it. Vintage mixture for authentic nitro cracks and a green coat under it. This bass is for sale 😉😊

Babys in black

I'm proud to introduce you to two babies I've had in mind for a long time: a Höfner violin bass with a black top and gold-colored hardware.

The tops were painted with the blackest black pigment in nitrocellulose lacquer available on the open market. 10 coats of black, 10 coats of clear varnish, lovingly sanded in each layer – there's a real vibe here. I used two early 1965 500/1 basses as the base, each one slightly modified to look like a 1964 version and a 1963 version. The 1963 version uses a one-piece neck that had never been used before and was acquired from an old Höfner stock auction. Similar parts were used in Project Wormhole, among other projects. So the neck was also painted by me. I left the original sunburst on the back and side.

My personal impression of these two basses: Absolutely classy, and I'm a little proud to have created a unique thing here, because nothing like it has existed before. Two unique pieces, come and get it

Red red wine

I really love this old 182 solid bass guitars with the pickup spacing in the upper neck area. Here we have two early rare models in my favorite color red from 1961 and 1962 that i both restored. Slim Necks, less weight, hughe deep sound. The one pickup version has already left the building and found a new home, the other one is a keeper 😁😉

Nice weather outside perfect to take a walk into the forrest and chopping some wood with a good old freshly restored Hofner 175 😁 This Lady is from 1963, was completeley stripped and has get a new life from me including a vintage white nitro paint. Turned out pretty cool, really like it. But sadly (and better for me, red you know) its sold. Some more cool 175/176 will come in the next days

This 1966 Hofner 500/1 came in from a customer for a neck reset and non working bridge pickup. To be honest the first time i have seen this neck-body connection on a 1966 model...also completeley different to the later 69 long tenon comnections. But it seems original from stock if you have a look at the codes on the neck and neck pocket. Cool thing. Working again and is ready to go back to the customer for Rock n Roll 😁

Strange Magic ✨️

Before it goes out to its new owner i have to show you this special bass. I posted it some posts before already when i picked it up. This Hofner 500/1 Violin bass from 1966 has no Hofner logo on the headstock. It should have a 3D logo like common bass guitars at that time. I have only seen a 1963 without a logo on the headstock in the past. So wondering why this happened. Model for a TV show or exhibition or OEM where advertising was not allowed? I got the bass from its first owner family whou bought it new that time in germany. I checked the headstock for after repairs, negative, all stock, also the neck belongs to the body (see matching numbers) and was never detached that i found out when i made the neck reset. Cool Thing, when you know something about it, let me know 😁

Three cool cats 😼

Three cool Hofner basses from 1957 , 1964 and 1966 that are freshly restored and looking for a new home to hit the walls with nice beat bass sound. It's always impressive to see how to basses changed in their looks over the years (or sometime months) i guess you dont see those 57 basses often.. here in the first facelift version with the bridge pickup closer to the neck, but still the old Hofner Script Logo on the place like in the first version
