This footage was captured during Typhoon Soudelor at Taiwan Taoyuan Airport in 2015.

The aircraft was a nearly empty China Airlines Boeing 747-400 Freighter parked directly into hurricane-force winds exceeding 130 mph (210 km/h).

Because aircraft wings generate lift from airflow, the powerful headwind created enough aerodynamic force to lift the aircraft's nose gear off the ground.

It's one of the most dramatic real-world demonstrations of how much lift a large aircraft wing can produce—even while parked.

A United B757 performs a go-around at SFO after losing separation with a Cathay Pacific B747. Flight UA900 from SAN executes an ATC-ordered go-around from the approach to 28L after the Cathay Pacific B747 arriving from HKG for 28R. ATC advised Cathay to “slow down and avoid overtaking the United B757 on the left shoulder.” Cathay responded they were at “minimum speed.” The UA900 pilot couldn’t speed up enough, so the go-around was necessary.
Thanks to excellent ATC communication and crew professionalism, the situation was managed smoothly without any issues.
