MONOLITH Prototype 2 – Work in Progress!

We’re getting closer to the final build, and we’re excited to bring you along for the journey!

Here’s what’s taking shape:

- Locking tuners for faster, easier string changes
- A redesigned bridge that eliminates the ball-end insertion tunnel, a great idea by Fabian
- Final typeplates now in hand

Behind the scenes, we’re also refining the final belt hook design and mounting plate for the drum stand and developing Revision 2 of the MONOLITH pickup module.

The goal is to have the hopefully final prototype ready in November, with pre-orders opening in December as planned. We couldn’t do this without your support, feedback, and enthusiasm stay tuned as we get ready to share the next big milestone! 🤘

More strings, more range, more possibilities.

Following our 8-string tuning guide, we’ve now put together a tuning and string gauge reference for our 10- and 12-string Touch Guitars® instruments, including the U10 Deluxe, U12 Deluxe and Monolith Touchstyle Instruments models.

The sheet shows the different tuning options together with the recommended string gauges for each setup, making it easier to find the right configuration for your instrument.

Whether you’re experimenting with a different tuning, looking for the right replacement strings, setting up a new instrument, or simply exploring the extended range of our 10- and 12-string models, this should be a useful reference to keep around.

Check out the sheet and find the setup that works best for you!

The Monolith is designed to adapt to the player not the other way around. Its modular mounting system allows the instrument to be configured for different playing positions and techniques.

Every instrument comes with a premium leather strap and a fully adjustable belt hook. A precision ball joint allows the belt hook to be freely positioned and angled, letting each player find their preferred playing position.

For players who prefer playing the Monolith on their lap, the entire mounting system can be removed quickly with a single screw, leaving the instrument clean and unrestricted.

An optional stand-mounting accessory will also be available, allowing the Monolith to rest securely on a stand or be played directly from it.

Not that we’re busy getting ready for the Summit or anything… but somehow we still found the time to finally develop the stand we’ve been needing.

A simple adapter that lets you mount the MONOLITH to a regular drum stand using standard L-rods.

Just a prototype that does exactly what it’s supposed to do …. it just works.

One more little piece of the MONOLITH puzzle solved.

Meet the Monolith Pickup Module, developed by Till Westphal of nova - innovative pickup systems in close collaboration with Stefan Huth.

The Monolith features two individually voiced single-coil pickups, one at the neck and one at the bridge, controlled by a 3-way switch for neck / both / bridge selection.

Each pickup section has its own independent volume control, operated by a recessed knurled k**b. The controls stay protected and out of the way while remaining easy to adjust during playing.

And while you get the clarity, openness and character of a true single coil, you don’t get the unwanted hum. A dedicated dummy coil positioned underneath the pickup provides effective hum cancellation without taking away its single-coil character. This is the frequency range of the voicing.

The stereo output jack is positioned on the back of the pickup module, allowing a 90-degree plug to route the cable straight down for a clean, unobtrusive setup.
