[email protected]

Gentle Giants ❤️

That’s what we call them. A 1950s drafting table by Nika Eskilstuna – pure industrial Design, built for a lifetime of plans, lines and ideas. They’re huge. They’re heavy. They look like they need a crew to move them.

And then you press one pedal, and the whole top glides up, tilts, turns. Effortless. Seventy years old and still one of the smoothest pieces of engineering we know.

Which is exactly why we love them: all that nostalgia, all that steel and still so gentle. Shared the table in our stories 🫶🏻⬆️

Iconic four-piece hi-fi system from the 1970s in rare grey, designed under the direction of Dieter Rams. The set consists of the PS 550 S turntable with removable smoked-glass dust cover, the A 301 amplifier, the T 301 tuner, and the C 301M cassette deck. Distinctive green power buttons and clear typography complete the user interface. Love 🎶❤️

1930s Art Déco side table.

It’s such a beautiful thing, having objects in your home you can actually talk about. Things that mean something – because of the craftsmanship behind them, the stories they carry, the beauty of their design.

Germany, 1880.
Gas lamps flicker along the street. Carriages rattle over wet cobblestones, a church bell strikes the hour somewhere in the fog, and up a narrow staircase, behind a frosted glass door, a dentist is closing his practice for the night.

He washes his hands in a porcelain basin. Wipes down the black marble until it gleams. On it, a row of small glass bottles – brown, green, blue – with handwritten labels and ground stoppers: clove oil, tincture of myrrh, ether. He sets them back behind the roll front, where they have stood every night for years. Then the instruments, one by one, into their drawers. Ten drawers, ten rituals. He pulls the roll front down, and the cabinet falls silent.

It was built to be feared and admired. Carved columns, a pediment like a cathedral gable, the dark gleam of oiled wood in lamplight. Patients sat across from it with their hearts pounding, listening to the clink of glass behind the wood. Children stared at it from the waiting room doorway. It was the tallest thing in the room.

The dentist is long gone. So are the bottles, the practice, the street, the whole century. The cabinet is still here. Every drawer still glides. The roll front still rolls. The marble still feels cold under your fingertips, the way it did in 1880. Open it, and for a moment it’s as if the year 1880 has been waiting inside. Look at it long enough and you understand why they built things this way back then. It is less a cabinet than a door to another time. Nobody makes anything like this anymore. Nobody has in a hundred years. It has been standing at the threshold for a long time, waiting for someone to step through.

Maybe it’s you.

The bed folds out. The table pulls out. You never have to leave. 😉 We took a 1960s fold-out bed, restored it, and added a pull-out table. Because a piece this good can do more than it was built for 💡🫶🏻

Gigantos Kids‘ furniture set by Rhein Conti, featuring authentic 1970s Space Age design. Depending on their orientation, the two organically shaped yellow plastic pieces can be used as a table with a matching seat or as two seats. They also work beautifully as a single side table or as two separate side tables 🤩❤️
