What a 🔔🔚 😂😂

Exeter RPU were keen to give this motorist a tug after spotting what appeared to be a tank being towed without any form of securing equipment and hogging the overtaking lane whilst well under the speed limit.

At first glance the officers thought that this was a lightweight plywood recreation for military reenactments, they were mortified to realise that this was in fact the full 21 tonnes of soviet steel being dragged along by a Land Rover Defender.

After a rolling roadblock was put in place, the vehicle was escorted very carefully to a weighbridge where it clocked in at a staggering 18,328kg (yes you read that correctly, 18.3 TONNES) over the maximum train weight.

The vehicle was immediately prohibited from further travel and the driver arrested for driving without due care and attention amongst a slew of other road traffic offences.

Driving an overladen vehicle massively reduces braking ability, if it wasn't for the commercial brakes fitted to the agricultural flatbed trailer, we don't believe this vehicle would have stopped at all, if you are in doubt about your vehicle's towing capacity, please refer to the manufacturer's specifications. "If it's on its gone" is not a good enough excuse.

Today, Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra signed her own written oath as heir to the Norwegian throne, a first in more ways than one.

She’s the first heir in modern Norwegian history to take this oath as an adult. Past heirs (including her father and grandfather) were minors when their fathers became king, so they swore in on their 18th birthdays instead. Because Ingrid was already 22 when her grandfather, King Harald V, passed away, the Constitution required her to sign a formal written declaration before the Storting right away.

She’s also the first royal actually shaped by Norway’s 1990 shift to gender-equal succession, meaning she was never bumped down the line when her younger brother, Prince Sverre Magnus, was born. If she one day takes the throne, she’ll be Norway’s first reigning queen in roughly 600 years, since Queen Margaret in 1412.

And this isn’t just symbolic. With her signature, Ingrid now has real constitutional standing: she can attend cabinet meetings and step in as regent whenever her father is traveling, ill, or otherwise unavailable, the same role he once filled for King Harald.
