When creating the Dusty Rose bag, we drew inspiration from the ancient tradition of Japanese kimonos, where the inner lining was often crafted from materials even more exquisite and beautiful than the outer fabric. This principle, rooted in the philosophy of “wabi-sabi”, highlights that true value and harmony lie in hidden details, revealed only to those who take the time to notice them.🌿

In kimonos, the lining could be bright, patterned, or made of luxurious silk, even if the outer fabric was understated and minimalist. This hidden luxury wasn’t meant to dazzle others but to bring joy to the wearer, reflecting their taste and appreciation for beauty.🌿

Why Did We Choose Belgian Linen for Our Bags? 🌿

Belgian linen is grown in regions with the perfect climate for flax — Belgium and the Netherlands. These natural conditions alone make it possible to produce raw materials of unparalleled quality.

After harvesting, the flax straw is left in the fields to undergo natural retting, without the use of chemical treatments. This process is closely monitored by skilled specialists because timing is everything — too soon, and the fibers are too coarse; too late, and they lose their strength. It’s a delicate process that requires years of expertise, and only a handful of such specialists remain in the world. Thankfully, in Belgium, this tradition continues.

Flax from other regions is often sent abroad, usually to China, for processing. In contrast, Belgian linen is processed locally, right where it’s grown. High-tech machines are used to meticulously comb and separate the fibers. No other linen in the world achieves the same smooth and refined structure as Belgian linen.

Belgian linen is softened using hot air rather than chemical treatments, as is common elsewhere. This results in a fabric that is not only incredibly soft but also strong and durable.

Then, there’s the rigorous quality control. The yarn is tested against multiple criteria — it must be strong, consistent, and have the perfect moisture level. If any standard isn’t met, the entire batch is discarded.

The finished fabric undergoes further testing, with every single meter being inspected. Only those that pass are sent for final treatments like polishing, washing, and dyeing. Thanks to this attention to detail, products made from Belgian linen hardly shrink when washed.

The only downside to Belgian linen? Its price. It’s considered a luxury fabric and is one of the most expensive in the world, but so is the level of skill and tradition behind it. ❤️

This is one of the most cheerful bags we have ever created. It has an amazing ochre color that fills life with warmth and light.
The heavy, structured linen holds its shape beautifully. The lining is made of 100% cotton in olive green.

Threads and labels are 100% cotton. The bottom is made of cork fabric.

Like all our bags, this one was not assembled on a production line but crafted from start to finish by a single person, and we guarantee perfection in every stitch.

Inside the bag, there are two practical large pockets, each perfectly suited to hold any phone.

Dimensions of the large bag: Width 35 cm, Height without handles 39 cm, Height with handles 74 cm, Weight approx. 500 grams.

In our store, the new deep burgundy bag is made from the highest quality Belgian linen. The fabric has structure but without the typical linen slubs. The lining is a silvery-pearl color, made of 100% dense cotton.

Threads and labels are made of 100% cotton. The bottom is cork fabric.
