Company founders (and brothers) Hans and Lothar Stamer began producing their own loudspeaker cabinets in 1979 in a small shop in southwestern Germany. While the production space may have been small, their aspirations were not. Soon, the reputation of their products for craftsmanship and performance spread, prompting them to expand operations time and time again. Along the way, they serv
ed as Original Equipment Manufacturer to some of the most revered international names in pro audio. Over time, they developed and manufactured professional touring systems for larger and larger venues, including audiences of 50,000 and more. Today, systems we manufacture in our world-class facilities in St. Wendel, Germany, serve an extremely broad range of applications. Thanks to the efforts of our highly skilled and dedicated team of more than 200 people, HK AUDIO® has firmly established itself as one of the most distinguished names in professional sound reinforcement in Europe. From the very start, our focus has been the needs of our users, who challenged us not to be satisfied with standard solutions. In close collaboration with leading sound engineers and musicians, we have forged a host of innovative solutions over the years. These solutions, together with the new technologies that first saw the light of day in the HK AUDIO® labs, have proven to be milestones—key developments in pursuit of the perfect sound reinforcement system. Today at HK AUDIO® we create systems for virtually every type of application, from the portable active system for the solo entertainer, to the touring system for open air venues with audiences of 50,000 and more. Quality and Environmental Protection
All HK AUDIO® products are designed and manufactured with the same painstaking attention to detail. State-of-the-art computer-controlled production lines with precision CNC milling and metal-processing machines, fully-automatic enameling systems, and robots that carry out a wide range of production tasks are all par for the course with us. Not only does this guarantee an absolutely consistent high level of quality, it also assures a clean and healthy work environment. Unfortunately, not everyone takes environmental protection as seriously as they should; we decided long ago to set a good example. With pollutant-free wood, waterbased enamels and a stringent recycling and waste avoidance strategy, we carry our share of the responsibility for the state of our environment. We live in a world of sensory perception—touch, taste, sight, and especially sound! Hearing is like no other sense. Auditory perceptions are interpreted as information, but they also have a direct and unfiltered influence on our emotions and, by extension, our well-being. Language and music are the speech of the heart, giving voice to our feelings and sharing our emotions. We are all equipped with "algorithms" that tell us immediately if an audio event signals safety, relief, good vibes, trouble ahead, or even danger. We may never fully understand these algorithms, but we never tire of studying them and discovering more about them every day. Engineers specializing in acoustics, analog and digital electronics, and mechanics work hand in hand, collaborating with experienced live sound engineers, musicians and a musicologist who adapts the sound of every HK AUDIO® product to suit human auditory physiology. Our engineers have one of the world’s most sophisticated Class 1 acoustics labs at their disposal. Here they can document and analyze the audio properties and dynamics of a speaker system in exhaustive detail to ultimately advance the state of the art. Our day job is actually the pursuit of a vision—to reproduce acoustic events perfectly. By maintaining a spirited dialog with customers and resellers in more than fifty countries worldwide, we find ourselves continually inspired to come up with new ideas.
