Today is my birthday and I reflected some things that I want to share with you
As some of you may know: at the moment I’m doing most of the shop work myself, which includes building, testing, packing, shipping prep, mails, all the small stuff around it. Due to the tariffs I had to let go all my staff and move my shop since it wasn’t lucrative to rent huge space for myself. The changes were scary, since the last 10 years were only about expanding and it felt like a massive step backwards. As my work grow bigger over the years The constant fear of failing from this high of cause changed me.
I’m writing this with a new mindset that formed in the last weeks. I realized that I couldn’t keep up the role of the businessman that I used to be since this role wasn’t necessary anymore. Aspects that lead to the pressure of that role, to manage my employees and keep up with the market were the things that lead me to feeling drained all the time. I never saw myself in that position, even though I hold these times close to my heart.
I realized that what I COULD do was doing what I love. The reason why JPTR FX started initially 10 Years ago: build awesome music equipment for awesome people by myself.
And this is what I still do and live everyday
Seems that change doesn’t mean that bad things happen to you, it’s about what you take out of the situation for the better, for your mental health and growth.
Maybe this change isn’t about expansion for once, than for doing the things that I love, live a meaningful life with depth and a full happy heart.
I’ve got now support for the communication part to keep you all informed. So I can stay on the soldering iron all day and that’s GREAT.
I’m working through the next 150 pedals right now that will leave the shop next week.
With this update I want to give you more transparency about the last months.
