Last match in finishen, and what other way to be able to take the win with just a single point over while he was watching me shoot as the last shooter of the day 😁😂

Next time my will be enhanced with the freaking well balanced and awesome bolt handle made by 🤩

What a weekend!

The danish finale is over, and it was stressing and hectic. Dealt with a very poor setup, blown primers, high ES and elevation issues costing me more points than wind 🫣

I co-MD’ed with my partner in crime . Awesome COF and ex*****on of the weekend - thanks buddy, we did good! Big thanks to all that helped out and our sponsors 🙏

Although, decided that it’s my last match to MD while I shoot myself. It costs to much on my personal shooting and puts me in situations where I need to take decisions that I don’t want to take while competing. Lost my second place in the overall ranking - next season is WC qualifier, rinse and repeat 💪

Doing last testing before the danish finale tomorrow (2-days match).

Not really happy with the load or barrel. Have not had time to to swap barrel after world where I also experienced poor barrel performance and zero shifts.

Have turned the load significantly down (2gr) in the once fired brass - still getting pierced primers on all shots and dealing with flyers 😒

I guess it is what it is 🤞🤷‍♂️

ES was around 50-80fps for 5 shot strings 🤪

Switched to BR4 primers to avoid pierced primers, but they still go to hot 🥵 hope it will shoot 200 shots before it dies on me 😅

I guess we’ll see how it goes…

My goal was to experience my first Worlds, and see the level of shooters. My personal expectations was not met, rifle didn’t shoot well on first day, but at the end of the day the wind blew me away and more training and experience is required - a lot to work on 😅

I learned a lot, and will use this experience going on forward. Will post some content later.

Special thanks to my wife and my kids for their support and keeping up with me, not only for being absent the past two weeks, but for all the preparation up to this - love you babe and could not have done this without you 😘

Recoil management experiment

When you decide to shoot many shots and tracking them, then why not experiment a bit? 😎

Left triangle is shot standing and right is high kneeling (did low and sitting as well). All from tripod with a bag.

First: recoil mgmt as usual

Second: PULL (very) tight towards shoulder with shooting hand

Third: PUSH into bag/barricade with both hands and shoulder

What I found surprisingly was the consistency in the size of my group sizes using each positions.

Recoil mgmt matters - but I guess you knew that 😉

Barrel selection day 4 😅

After a full clean (bore scoped), a velocity drop is pretty common. Question is, how fast will it regain speed.

Yesterday’s shots where finished around 840 m/s. Initial shot today was 812 m/s, second shot was at 826 m/s.

Tracked 50 shots. The first string of 25 was between high 820’s and low 830’s.

The last 10 shots stabilized around 840’s again.

Now to the ladder test:
6 groups of 5 shots, steps of .40gr and the last ones had great SD/ES and group sizes.

Berger 109’s with Vihtavuori N140
Avg: 836, SD: 0.7, ES: 2.2

Sun 0.2 MOA 5-shots groups.

Selecting barrel for the WC 2024. Prefit barrels are reamed with non-alpha, but I like the freebore and neck size of the reamer.

A small touch-up and I get it as I want it 😎

Barrel only have 35 shots in it, horrible ES right now, but it will settle - throwing few 100 through it to see where it settles.
