AND YES ; I WASH MY KNITS 🫧
I use my own WOOL SOAP when blocking to gently clean and care for the fibres. The soap contains linoleum and is made out of all natural ingredients. My favorite is Lavender or Rose fragrance ❣️

Then gently squeeze out the excess water, shape the garment and lay it flat to dry.

Blocking isn’t about fixing your knitting.

Repetitive crafts like knitting have been associated with reduced stress and increased relaxation in many people.

Knitting keeps both hands and both sides of the brain engaged.

Following a knitting chart exercises memory, spatial reasoning and concentration.

Knitting is one of the rare hobbies that is both creative and highly structured.

This is why knitters love to sit with something in their hands when listening, we are not occupied with our project, we are simply removing all distractions and focusing on what is being said. Have you ever taken your needles to listening to lectures or meetings?

Slow fashion begins with slow hands.

Every stitch is made individually. Nothing is printed, glued or stamped.

Handmade means someone chose quality over speed.

This is actually a bigger responsibility than to know how to sew, the entire garments is created in the knitters hands, don’t you agree?

Luxury isn’t a logo, it’s craftsmanship.

Some things are worth taking your time with.

Fast fashion makes clothes but makers create heirlooms.

This is replacing the game when it comes to buying luxury, everyone can save money and buy something expensive, but can they create something custom in their own hands?

Some people see a sweater. A knitter sees thousands of tiny decisions.

Every handmade piece has one thing no machine can add: the time someone chose to spend on it.

Just one more row… becomes to hours later, right?

Every dropped stitch is a reminder that mistakes are part of creating.

Knitting is proof that little things, repeated consistently, become something extraordinary.

Luxury isn’t a logo, it’s craftsmanship. It’s the fibers you choose to work with, it’s the feeling and flow with your hand.

HOW TO WORK THE DIAGRAM ✔️

The eyelet section of the scarf features the signature Thelma logo, worked once you’ve reached approximately halfway through the total length of the scarf.

The motif is knitted by following the chart, which includes detailed instructions on exactly where and how to work it. The asymmetrical shape is surprisingly easy to knit, though it can take a little extra attention to remember when the patterns shift in the middle and the decreases change.

My best tips:
✨ Use stitch markers to separate the sections.
✨ Mark your place on the chart with a chart keeper, a magnetic board, or simply fold the paper as you go.
✨ Take it one row at a time.

Once you get into the rhythm, it’s easy to follow, incredibly satisfying to knit, and the finished result is a beautiful little signature detail you’ll love to wear.

LOGOSCARF TUTORIAL 🫶

Little tips and tricks for you when working the scarf.

To start with it’s time for me to explain something:

❣️ No one taught me how to knit / than Im talking about all the knowledge I’ve added on since my mom taught me at the age of 6. All techniques have just been created by figuring things out as I go. This has evolved over the years and it wasn’t until I was deep into pattern writing and publishing that I figured that I DO NOT INCREASE like everyone else.

In my personal opinion, no one should change their knitting game in order to make things. But as a knitwear designer I’ve made the decision to explain my odd increase method instead of changing the way I knit.

After doing a deep research I actually found out that the way I increase has a name and it’s called INVISIBLE INCREASE (thank you English knitwear designer to have name for everything) ! 🤘🏻❤️

🫶 I’ve been encouraged by my testers and retailers to clarify my technique, so in my recent published patterns I’ve explained this technique. So it doesn’t come as surprise that mine looks different than in the pictures.

But as I do not want knitters to change their ways, it’s simply a suggestion or maybe an interesting new technique to learn.

I’ve struggled with this decision for years (should I explain this or not). In my opinion ; complex explanations can result in knitters having more difficulty understanding, therefore they give up on their projects or their experience is that somewhat was hard to make because it was complex.

So as I say often : knitters choice.

Putting that aside, the rest should be as explained in the pattern. Eyelets facing right and left, first stitch slipped purlwise, increases (knitters choice) 💪🏻

I promise to make another video to explain the print that comes into the scarf later. It took me a while to crack the code and as I’ve mentioned before, I unraveled the first scarf over 10 times. I didn’t stop until I was 100% satisfied with the results ❣️

BACK IN COPENHAGEN & at work 🫶

When you run a small business you can’t holiday to hard, I always need to make sure that it doesn’t go to many days between deliveries of online orders. I don’t have the luxury to check myself out for a month, but I’m able to catch break every now and then.

For the first time since I started working in my own company I put my email on auto reply, saying was on summer holiday until the 20th. I just needed the space for 5 days while I was in Italy ☺️ but I also got an email from a costumer saying that I was not allowed to reply back to her question until I was back !! I love it, it truly shows that my costumers are the best and respect that I also need to detach and just be on the moment.

It be been slowly adding new colors and remaking popular colors for the virals shelves. I’m packing all order that have been waiting and I’ll be making daily visits to the post office while I’m back home. So please feel free to grab that opportunity, the rainy weather in Copenhagen is perfect to spend with the needles 🫶
