Et lidt forsinket postkort fra Folkemødet🌞

Med berigede sind og ny inspiration er vi vendt hjem fra Folkemødet, klar til at arbejde videre med det, vi brænder for: at skabe socialt bæredygtige byer på både naturens og menneskers præmisser🌱

Vi har været til samtaler om alt fra sprogets rolle i en økologisk krise og unges engagement i kommunalpolitik til genanvendelse i byggeri og hvordan det byggede miljø kan styrke børn og unges trivsel.

Alt sammen vigtige samtaler, der har givet os nye refleksioner, idéer og perspektiver til arbejdet med demokratisk og bæredygtig byplanlægning💫

Særligt har vi en tydelig oplevelse af, at børn og unge fylder mere på dagsordenen. Det er vi opløftede over og gør os helt varme om hjertet 💜

Aars skal blomstre af liv! 🌷

En levende bymidte er en bymidte, der tilbyder noget til alle byens beboere og besøgende. Derfor er det også kun noget, byen kan skabe i fællesskab.

I Aars har man netop startet et sådant samarbejde op på tværs af byens mange foreninger, institutioner, forretninger og kommunen. I de næste tre år skal vi i arki_lab være med til at understøtte deres arbejde med at løfte bymidten i fællesskab.

Byen er rig på foreninger og initiativer – fra madbanken og maker spacet til den årlige Kimbrerfest. Alligevel mærker man ikke byens liv, når man går gennem hovedgaden. De unge mangler steder at mødes, og flere og flere butikker står tomme hen.

Aars Bysamarbejde handler om at få lokalsamfundet engageret i arbejdet for en levende bymidte. Det er vigtigt at få alle med på vognen, og derfor inviterede vi i forrige uge alle med tilknytning til Aars ind i den gamle sportmaster for at dele deres lokale viden og ønsker for bymidten.

Tusind tak til alle, der deltog og for de mange bidrag med værdifuld viden, oplevelser og idéer.

Vi glæder os til at dykke ned i alle de indsamlede inputs og at være med til at støtte den fælles udvikling af Aars bymidte de næste år!

Interesserer du dig for demokratisk design og en tværfaglig tilgang til designfagets mange processer og skalaer? Er du studerende med en designfaglig eller samfundsvidenskabelig profil og praktiksøgende? Eller kender du en der er?

Vi søger to praktikanter, som er nysgerrige på inddragelse, design, analyse og formidling og vil være en del af vores tværfaglige team på kontoret i København fra midt august/ start september 2026.

We are excited to announce that Emina and Astrid have joined our team as our new interns!🎉

Astrid is an analytical intern at arki_lab and she is currently studying a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology at the University of Copenhagen. Her academic interest centers on how anthropological knowledge can move beyond academic institutions and contribute to meaningful changes for people and communities. She looks forward to gaining practical experience with experimental methods for citizen involvement and democratic design processes.

Emina is a design intern and currently studying a bachelor’s degree in Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy. During her studies at the culture-focused bachelor programme, her interest has revolved around political architecture, social sustainability and the human role within architecture. She looks forward to gaining practical experience with strategic urban planning, citizen involvement in design processes as well as working with the methodologies and approaches used in arki_lab’s work.

2025 has been filled with exciting tasks, strong collaborations, and new relations. We are proud of the impactful projects we’ve lifted together! We can truly say that 2025 has been defined by projects in line with arki_labs' core values, and looking back, we have:
..𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 ‘𝗕ø𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿’. Through KUMULT, we have worked with urban spaces from the perspective of children with 4th-grade classes in Ringsted and Odsherred municipalities. In the new year, we look forward to gathering those experiences and data so that the children's perspectives can inform planning!
..𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲. An important part of our work is knowledge sharing, and in 2025, we contributed to the conversation about children, cities, and architecture through articles and debates – including at Kulturmødet Mors – with the ambition to nuance and strengthen the public dialogue on children's roles in architecture!
..𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆. Down Under, we have worked closely with Parkes Shire Council on a new strategy; the CBD Vibrancy Strategy. Through workshops and broad citizen engagement, we have been working with the city's identity, future activities, and a shared vision – rooted in local voices and commitment.
..𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. The Climate Garden at Grønjordskollegiet has been inaugurated as a new green meeting place for residents. The project demonstrates how biodiversity, community, and everyday life can grow side by side through close collaboration and local anchoring.
..𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀. In 2025, we worked on the development of two new GAME Street Hubs in both Kolding and Gilleleje. With a focus on co-creation, the reuse of local materials, and inclusive urban spaces, we are creating frameworks for culture, street sport, and youth communities that strengthen historical cultural environments.

With our sights set on the new year, we look forward to more meaningful projects in the arki_lab spirit. Thank you for the collaboration in 2025 – we look forward to continuing the journey. Happy holidays and a Happy New Year! 🎄✨

2025 has been filled with exciting projects, strong collaborations, and new relations. We are proud of the impactful projects we’ve lifted together! This year has truly reflected arki_labs’ core values, and we are proud to have:
.highlighted the quiet voices through ‘Børnespor’ (Children’s Tracks), where we have worked with urban spaces from a child’s perspective alongside 4th-grade classes in Ringsted and Odsherred municipalities.
..contributed to the public debate on children, cities, and architecture, including at Kulturmødet Mors...developed cities strategically Down Under in collaboration with Parkes Shire Council on a new CBD Vibrancy Strategy.
..created space for biodiversity and sustainable communities with the inauguration of the Climate Garden at Grønjordskollegiet.
..created youth culture in sustainable settings in two new GAME Street Hubs in Kolding and Gilleleje.

✨ følger med arki_lab i børnenes spor! ✨

💰 Vi har fået en flot bevilling fra DREYERS FOND til at fortsætte arbejdet med vores projekt Børnespor – et projekt der handler om at blive klogere på børns færden og oplevelse af steder, byer og byrum. Dermed er vi et stort skridt tættere på at have et værktøj, der inddrager børns perspektiver i byplanlægningen på lige fod med de voksne.

🍀 Bevillingen falder i forbindelse med afrundingen af et pilotprojekt, hvor vi har besøgt og lyttet til alle 4. klasser i Ringsted- og . Midlerne skal derfor bruges på at samle op på alt den data og viden, der er blevet skabt i forløbet, så den kan komme til gavn for børn over hele Danmark.

💡 Samtidig skal vi også blive klogere på, hvordan planlæggere, kommuner, forskere og skoler bedst kan bruge, og hvordan de mener at vi kan blive endnu bedre til at følge i børnenes spor.

👣 Vi glæder os til at blive endnu bedre til at gå i børnenes fodspor i det nye år!
