The heavy-duty spring keeps the laundry on the clothesline, no matter how strong the wind is. Made entirely of stainless steel. Also the spring. The steel is of type AISI 304. Don't rust. Don't rot. Don't break. Do not twist and do not fall apart. Heat and cold-resistant (can also be used as bag closers in the freezer for example). Do not stain the laundry due to rot or rusty springs. Has a strong spring, so the pegs stay on the clothesline even during stormy weather. The pegs also grip much better on thicker objects, such as a lined winter jacket, a robust bathrobe or the bathroom mat. The pegs are not suitable for people with arthritis in their fingers, for which the spring is too strong. Saltwater resistant. Suitable for sailing yachts.
20 year warranty for normal use, ie. as clothes pegs or e.g. as bag closers in a deep freezer and other similar types of use. Can withstand being stored outside all year round. The pegs are also available in a powder coated version in 11 different colors. The painting is of the same type used in the automotive industry. The lacquered pegs fade over time in the same way as a car loses color, especially if the pegs are stored outside all year round, but the lacquer does not peel off. The unpainted pegs cost 1.35 EUR each and the colored pegs 1.75 EUR each. Of course, it's a much higher price than regular wood or plastic pegs, but our Omega pegs should never be replaced. In fact, one can safely write them into one's will so that they can be passed on to the next generation. The Omega clothes pegs are manufactured for my company Popotamus by a metal work in Northern Italy and powder coated by an industrial painter in the same area.
The type of stainless steel used is AISI 304 (A2 or 18/8 steel), which is a pretty high grade of stainless steel. The powder coatings are very durable, it is the same type of powder coating that are used for bikes and cars and as most of us knows the colour can fade over time, but it does not come off.
The spring is made from the same grade of stainless steel. The pegs do not rust or rot (and do not stain the laundry). They are not degraded by either sunlight or sub zero temperatures, i.e. they do not become brittle over time and break. They can withstand exposure to salt impact in coastal areas for many, many years.
And the spring is a lot stronger than the one in ordinary pegs, so the clothes will remain on the clothesline, no matter how windy it is.
If the pegs becomes dirty from airborne dirt of if you drop them on the ground just wash them in water and they are clean and as good as new.
The Omega clothes pegs are considerably more expensive than the pegs in wood and plastic that we all know about.
