‘The Mammoth Book of Detective Stories’ becomes title number 1000 on The Story Cellar inventory ♥️. Can’t believe it was only 13 months ago that I started with less than 200 titles. I’ve sold some along the way but I still have 4.5 boxes left to catalogue, so by next opening day there will be 900+ titles on the shelves. I had to update the sign 🤩. Thank you so much to everyone who so generously donated their books in order to make this possible. I can’t wait till I can do this full time!

I have a weakness for old buildings that scream renovation project (I blame my parents) but I think this could be another place in Rudkøbing that could become a lovely permanent home for The Story Cellar. Tables opening out into the park, watching the leaves fall in autumn as you sip pumpkin spice and lose yourself in a story. Who’s with me?

I didn’t get special glasses to watch the eclipse tonight 😞 so to keep myself from looking at the sun, I will bury my head in one of my favourite Harry Bosch novels. Now I just need to decide which one…
And yes, all these books are now in stock.

Working hard on cataloguing all the amazing finds from the five boxes from last week. So if someone could give me the winning lottery numbers so I could quit my job and do this full time, I’d be ever so grateful 😆

Er du mere til bøger end til cykelløb, så er The Story Cellar åben i morgen lørdag fra 10 - 13 i kælderen under Jens Winthers Vej 6 i Rudkøbing. Der er så mange nye titler på hylderne - bare se alle de kasser vi har fået 😍 - , bl.a. fra Lucinda Riley, Michael Connelly, Lee Child og George R.R. Martin.

I am so happy that I get to spend part of my life having people ask me, ‘Do you want some books?’ The answer is always a resounding YES! And when it also means meeting some great people and their dogs and seeing the most amazing garden then it’s YES squared ♥️📚

One great thing about running a bookshop is discovering new authors. I am working my way through Susan Grafton’s Alphabet Series and am about to start ‘D’ is for Deadbeat.
I love that idea that she started writing because she spent too much time plotting to kill her husband 😆 and that the D instalment coordinates with my drink. Here’s hoping no one buys them all before I can finish them!
