My latest major sewing project – so exciting andtruly one of a kind! 🤩💚
I was commissioned to upcycle a blazer using handball t-shirts from Danish Sønderjyske Men’s Handball.
It was made for the Final4 Cup Final at Boxen in Herning this weekend, with an audience of 12,000 spectators, and it will also be worn at all future home games.
A Customer came up with a brilliant idea for her husband. Based on an AI-generated concept she had created, I developed the idea into the finished product: a blazer with five handball jerseys carefully built onto it, each reinforced with fusible interfacing on the back.
I started by creating a pattern from the original blazer and removing the sleeves before I could really get started.
This project was incredibly exciting to make, even though I had to put my thinking cap on a few times to find the best solutions. It was quite a puzzle to piece everything together while making sure it didn’t look like a patchwork project, but instead kept a clean, stylish look. 😅💚
