My name is Inga Mear. The hands behind IMÉRO MIREI.
Since childhood I have been what we might call “horse-crazy,” and horses have been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember.
In 2018, I received an interesting offer and the opportunity to start sewing bags and covers for musical instruments and related equipment. I had never imagined that I might become a craftsperson, although as a horse enthusiast, I had spent years repairing horse equipment and occasionally creating new pieces of tack when needed. I still remember being fifteen years old when I restored my first set of sleigh bells — they remain with me to this day, hanging on the wall of my room.
Without overthinking it, I decided to accept the offer and give it a try. That decision marked the beginning of a new chapter in my life — a chapter as a craftsperson that quickly grew into a true passion. Gradually, my work and creativity began to take center stage, while horses remained a beloved but quieter presence in the background.
Today I design and sew custom bags, and I also create a wide range of bespoke leather pieces. I often combine textiles with leather details to give my work character and durability. As someone who deeply values nature and the environment, I place great emphasis on quality, sustainability, and longevity. Every piece is made with care and dedication, carrying both creativity and the wishes and vision of the person who commissions it.
One aspect of my work that is especially close to my heart is giving new life to old horse equipment that can no longer serve its original purpose. From these materials I create unique and one-of-a-kind objects that carry with them memories and history. It is my way of honoring the horses and the work they do, the people who care for them, and the craftspeople who originally created this equipment.
For me, this is not simply recycling. It is the revival of stories through craftsmanship, quality, and meaning. I give new life to materials that time has already shaped — materials that are strong, resilient, and weathered by years of use. They have endured harsh conditions, changing seasons, routine and tension, moments of loss and triumph, and sometimes even years forgotten in the corner of a stable. Yet despite the passage of time, they carry more character and life than any newly manufactured material ever could.
