رشا جبريل: مصممة ازياء تراثية وحلى نوبية
Rasha Gebreel: A designer of traditional costumes and Nubian jewelry
رشا جبريل حمته، مصرية من أصل نوبي. تقيم بالقاهرة، ولكنها ككل أهالي النوبة تحمل النوبة تاريخا وتراثا في قلبها وعقلها. (أنا نوبية) هو ردها التلقائي على سؤال (أنت منين؟)، تقول رشا، "النوبة لها خصوصية، جعلت منه جزءا متفردا، الإنسان النوبي مرتبط بأرضه، فهي ليست فقط مكان للحياة، بل هي الحياة ذاتها." ه
Rasha Gebreel Hamtah, is Egyptian of Nubian descent. She lives in Cairo, but as all people of Nubia, she carries its history and heritage in her heart and mind. “I am Nubian,” is her spontaneous response to the question, “Where are you from?” “Nubia is a place with unique character that connects its people to their land. For them, it is not just a place to live, but it is life itself,” she says.
أحبت رشا الفنون، والنوبي منها على وجه الخصوص، وذلك بسبب حكايات الجدات، وما يروونه عن النوبة وتاريخها. عشقها لكل ما هو نوبي جعلها تدشن مشروعا يهتم بالفن والتراث النوبي في عام ٢٠١١، ليصبح هذا الفن من نسيج البيت المصري، واستطاعت المزج بين الحداثة والتراث فيما تنفذه من المصنوعات الفنية.
Rasha likes arts, especially Nubian. She grew up listening to the stories and tales of Nubia and its history from her grandmothers and family elders. To promote her heritage, she launched an Art and Nubian Heritage Project in 2011. Through her project, she is keen to introduce and integrate Nubian art in modern and contemporary interior and home accessories.
تقول رشا: الموتيفات النوبية تروي تاريخ أهل النوبة، مثل حلّي (البيه) التي ترتديها النوبيات فبداخلها أهلة (جمع هلال) ونجوم توضح تأثير الطبيعة على الإنسان، والأهلة من التراث الإسلامي، بخلاف أن القطعة تحمل تموجات النهر، لتجسيد حب النوبيين وارتباطهم بالنيل ، قامت بمساعده الكثير من سيدات النوبة بتدريب أكثر من ١٥٠ شخص من النوبيين وغير النوبيين علي كيفيه صياغه الحلي النوبية، كذلك هي تلقي محاضرات عن تاريخ الحلي النوبيه وتأثير الموروث الديني والطبيعة في تشكيلها، كل ذلك كنوع من الترويج للتراث النوبي والحفاظ عليه، حتي أصبحت معروفة خارج مصر. وقد استعانت بكتب ومؤرخين ومدونين نوبيين لجمع المعلومات اللزمة لمحاضراتها.

“Nubian motifs tell the history of its people. For example, the jewelry worn by the Nubian women has both crescents and ripples, which blends the Islamic art and also symbolizes the river Nile, the source of life for the people of Nubia,” Rasha says. To promote and preserve the Nubian heritage, Rasha, with the help of other Nubian women, she trained more than 150 Nubians and non-Nubians to design Nubian jewelry. She also gives presentations on the history of Nubian jewelry, and the effect of the religious heritage and nature on its designs. To prepare for her presentations, she read books and consulted Nubian historians and bloggers.
Rasha graduated from the Faculty of Commerce, University of Cairo and she is a certified Montessori educator.
