Our Story
THE SPACE is a small shop in Maadi, Cairo that started in April 2014. Our aim is to contribute to our local environment, economy and society by helping promote small, local businesses, crafts, charities and young entrepreneurs. Our Clothes Rack and Elegant Junk sections display a variety of select pre-owned but new or gently used items in perfect condition, including some special vintage clothing and accessories. Our Food Corner offers healthy and locally made products including Minnies solar dried fruit and Kay’s homegrown, homemade marmalades and chutneys. Last but by far not least is our Local Crafts section. It is a wide collection of all kinds of interesting handmade items most of which are created by small businesses, talented but underprivileged individuals and charity organisations aimed at helping the local community. Visit us at THE SPACE to get some interesting additions to your wardrobe, stock your kitchen and bathroom with local products good for the body and soul, or just to find something nice to give to someone you care about. We are always happy to offer new items and products from individuals and organisations that have the same goal.
