Altrim sets up a channel of expression and communication, with both an international and local focus, the journey being a motor of an architectural and cultural experience. We intend to spread architectural concepts and other art forms with a vision that ranges from the specific to the general. We want to share our catalogue with clients, friends, authors and professionals by providing them with a way to communicate their design and publications in a traditional and digital format.

A new conversation on architecture is taking shape.

Architectures of Transition: Frameworks and Practices in South Asia brings together discussions on architectural agency, diverse approaches to practice, and the evolving relationship between theory and professional work across South Asia.

Emerging from the international conference held in New Delhi in December 2023, the book brings academics and practitioners into dialogue, capturing a range of perspectives on contemporary architectural practice in the region.

Edited by Rahul Mehrotra, Devashree Shah and Pranav Thole.

The painting that inspired the cover of Death of a Modernist.

The artwork, Baby Ganesha (2000), is an acrylic on canvas by Aditya Prakash (1924–2008), a first-generation Indian modernist whose work moved across art, architecture, design and planning.

Its playful forms, bold colours and expressive lines became the visual inspiration behind the cover of Death of a Modernist, written by his son, Vikramaditya Prakash.

Part of Altrim’s MINĪ Collection, Death of a Modernist is an intimate and deeply personal account of Aditya Prakash as a father, architect, artist and man of letters. Set against the backdrop of Chandigarh, the book explores the intertwined ideas of death, life, memory and inheritance.

A story of a father.
A memory of a life.
And an artwork that found its way onto the cover.

Discover Death of a Modernist and explore the world behind its pages.
