Fashion and Luxury Industries We are the Retail, Fashion, and Luxury Goods Club of IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain.

Through this club, we aim to educate our members about these industries and prepare them for careers after graduation. Throughout the year, the RFLG Club hosts events such as a speaker series with industry professionals and experts, career workshops, professional treks to London, Milan, Paris, company visits, and a consulting-style case competition. This page will act as a forum to alert members o

This Thursday we had Mr. Mineaki Saito, formal Executive VP of Hermes International, in IESE to talk about luxury industry's "Tradition and Innovation." He talked the origin of luxury, evolution of the industry, current status and the future challenges.
"Luxury has to be repairable." It is not materialism we usually perceive as nowadays; it has deep humanity and responsibility inside.

RFLG Club and Japan Business Club are honored to invite Mr. Mineaki Saito, former Hermès Global Executive VP of Marketing, to IESE to talk about “Tradition and Innovation”.
Mr. Saito will share his insights and experience over:
* The Hermès philosophy - keeping craftsmanship relevant to modern lifestyle
* Customer communication and experience - trust and connection between products, craftsman, and customers
* Brand heritage vs. internationalization - exclusivity vs. availability
* Profitability and sustainability - how come Hermès reported the highest return on capital and the best operating profit after tax in 13 of the past 15 years, beating major luxury groups?

We fly him over from Paris exclusively for this talk. It’s a very rare opportunity to interact with a senior manager from a world-class luxury brand. We hope to see you there!

The RFLG Club just returned from a trip to Milan for the Retail & Luxury Career Forum, hosted at Bocconi University. It was a great trip to meet potential employers, learn about trends, gain industry insight, and bond as a club. We'll be posting more highlights throughout the week and we'll host a debrief session shortly for all club members to attend, even those who couldn't make the trip. Thank you all to a wonderful time!

This time, we had the chance to count with Sannie Lee, Karen Crisostomo, Lionel Akant and Carolina Carrillo, who shared with us their experiences and insights about the luxury/retail industry. Hello All! This Thursday, the RFLG Club will host Ferran Guëll, CMO of Privalia/Vente-Privee. As a person who has more than 20 years of experience in the Tech-world, and who has been with the company since day one, he will be sharing his broad experience in e-commerce, on-line marketing and brand building within the challenging start-up environment.

He is an IESE Alumni (EMBA 2011) and is in charge of the Marketing Strategy at Privalia Group, and he is very well known for his creativity, ideas and self-driven attitude.

The RFLG Club has teamed up with the Marketing Club to bring Maria Prados, expert in consumer trends and omnichannel retailing, plus IESE alumna of 2009, to give a talk on Thursday, 9 February at 4pm. We are flying her in from London for this special event, part of the RFLG Club Speaker Series. She will be discussing her background, trends in consumer habits, challenges in marketing, and best industry practices.

Maria Prados is the VP of Global Retail at Worldpay and has a background in consulting and financial services. Prior to joining Worldpay, Maria was part of an ecommerce turnaround team for Dixons, where she built out a successful ecommerce and multichannel strategy. She is an expert in consumer trends and omnichannel strategy in retail.

This is a very special event, please be sure to attend. We will have a short networking cocktail in the lounge following the presentation for you to chat further with Maria.
