Vintage Silver Plated Jewellery/Trinket Box

I believe this box was made as a Royal Jubilee Special.

This is a lovely silver plated box with lion head feet and lined with a rich red velvet.

The coat of arms of the United Kingdom is engraved on the lid with the words:

INOH PENSE
DIEU ET MONDROIT

Dieu et mon droit is the motto of the British Monarch in England & refers to the divine right of the Monarch to govern.

It is said to have first been used by King Richard the Lionheart as a battle cry and official motto of battle, then adopted as the royal motto of England by King Henry V in the 15th century.

Translated it means:

'Evil be to him who evil thinks'
'God and my right'

Box measurements are: 6.5 x 5.5 x 3 (inches)

This is a wonderful box..... in excellent condition.

A great little box made by ANRI of Italy in the 1920's

The Scottie Dog has jointed hips and head, little bead eyes and is wonderfully carved.. push down his tail and the box opens and the dog peeps over the top.

Both the box and the Scottie Dog are in wonderful condition.

The box measures 7in from tip of tail to tip of nose and 4.5in from tip of ears to base of box.

The box the Scottie Dog sits on measures 3 3/4in x 4 1/4in

This is such a sweet box and a must have for any collector!!

PHILIP ASHBERRY & SONS JUG

A lovely jug, possibly thought to be a milk jug.
Made by Philip Ashberry & Sons, 21 Bowling Green, Sheffield - 1856-1935

Philip Ashberry & Sons began trading in 1829 making Britannia metal wares and this jug is a fine example.

Stands 210mm tall with a wicker work covered handle and the Philip Ashberry & Sons, Britannia, Sheffield mark on the base.

This is a lovely piece of English history and would make a great addition to someone's collection.

This is a beauty!! A wonderful old Spanish Steamer Trunk, made in Valencia & originally owned by a travelling performer. Original lining still intact & bears the makers label stamped with makers name, address and the serial number 188512 , leather straps, clothes protector (with owners name on handwritten label) Leather handles on either side, two brass locks and a brass padlock bar. Brass studs and corner protectors. Original castors on the bottom. Brass plaque on the front bearing the makers name and address and brass plate on on the top monogrammed with the original owners name and initials. This is a very large trunk, custom made and in excellent condition considering it's over 100 years old! Would make an excellent table and a must have for any collector!
