As plant taxonomy is in a constant flow and change with new and more advanced scientific methods, several of our tropical Hibiscus species also have changed their name in a taxonomic revision dating back to 2025. Bascially the reinstated genus Sabdariffa now includes all our former Hibiscus species with slightly spiny and/or coarse stems:
Sabdariffa acetosella (syn. Hibiscus acetosella)
Sabdariffa brackenridgei ssp. brackenridgei (syn. Hibiscus brackenridgei ssp. brackenridgei)
Sabdariffa cannabina (syn. Hibiscus cannabinus)
Sabdariffa diversifolia (syn. Hibiscus diversifolius)
Sabdariffa furcellata (syn. Hibiscus furcellatus)
Sabdariffa heterophylla (syn. Hibiscus heterophyllus)
Sabdariffa meraukensis (syn. Hibiscus meraukensis)
Sabdariffa radiata (syn. Hibiscus radiatus)
You find all of the above under their new names in our shop:
