Pogacar wins with by the closest margin possible!

On stage 4 of this year's Tour de Suisse the riders faced a 23.7km long individual time-trial which included a small hill halfway through at the first intermediate time check. Anything other than a Pogacar victory would've been a huge surprise. The Slovenian was also motivated to win, as it was only his second outing on his new TT2 time trial bike.

And unsurprisingly he didn't disappoint, however he didn't dominate either. He was already first at the first time check but with only a second ahead of Mathias Vacek, who's been on fire this week. It looked as if the stage would be decided between the two, but out of nowhere a new contender emerged.

Mathieu van der Poel was only 5 seconds behind Pogacar at the halfway point, which was a huge surprise considering that the Dutchman rarely trains on his TT bike. But it just simply wasn't an issue for him, as he overtook Mathias Vacek in the second part of the time-trial. Now it was up to Tadej to beat his time.

And he did it, although by just 0.31 seconds. Behind the two aliens we had former world champion Tobias Foss followed by Vacek and Wellens. This means that in the GC the Slovenian extended his lead to a whopping 4:22 ahead of Richard Carapaz. Only a crash can take the win away from him.

However, behind him everything is still up for grabs. Carapaz sits only 5 seconds ahead of Vacek, who is not a great climber on paper, but I wouldn't be surprised if he finishes high in the GC based on his performances so far this week. Then we have 7 riders within two minutes, including the likes of McNulty, Roglic, Van Wilder and Riccitello.

And with tomorrow's stage being the last and queen stage simultaneously, I'm sure we will see fireworks in the Swiss Alps.
