The Downcountry Steel Frame That Climbs Like a Racer and Descends Like a Demon
Nordest Cycles, the Spanish boutique brand known for its steel and titanium handcrafted bicycle frames, is proud to announce the release of the Britango 4, the latest evolution of its acclaimed downcountry hardtail — a frame category that Nordest itself pioneered and defines as a bike that looks and climbs like a cross-country race machine on the way up, and handles like a full-on enduro weapon on the way down.
Aggressive Geometry. No Compromises.
The secret behind the Britango 4's dual personality lies in its carefully engineered geometry. Ultra-short 425 mm chainstays paired with 29" wheels and a 75° seat tube angle deliver explosive, efficient power transfer for fast climbing. When the trail tips downward, a long top tube, 40 mm stem and a 66° head tube angle — designed for 140 mm forks with 20% SAG — put the rider in full command for high-speed descents and technical trail sections. The result is a ride that feels nothing short of explosive at both ends of the trail.
What's New in Version 4
The Britango 4 introduces several meaningful upgrades. Eyelets on the seat stays now allow the installation of a rear rack, making the frame fully bikepacking- and touring-capable without sacrificing its trail-shredding DNA.
The frame is also fully compatible with SRAM UDH Full Mount rear derailleurs, ensuring compatibility with the latest drivetrain technology.
The frame has been tested by real riders across all conditions and terrain types, with excellent results. It is designed for 140 mm of front suspension travel (compatible with forks from 120 mm to 140 mm) and supports both 27.5"+ × 2.8" and 29" × 2.6" wheel formats, delivering remarkable stability, traction and confidence in corners and on steep descents.
