LA HISTORIA DE LOS ALMENDROS EN FLOR
Hace mucho, mucho tiempo en Mallorca reinaba un califa árabe, que se enamoró y se casó con una chica hermosa, hija de un gran señor del norte.
Su amor era mutuo, y el matrimonio se celebró con gran estilo. Sin embargo, la bella princesa se volvía mas y mas triste cada día. Nadie era capaz de sacarle una sonrisa. Consultaron a magos y sabios de todo el mundo, pero ninguno pudo encontrar una cura para su tristeza …
hasta que un día, un anciano nórdico le dijo al rey, que la princesa anhelaba los campos cubiertos de nieve blanca de su tierra natal. el rey ordenó a miles de almendros a ser plantados delante de las ventanas del palacio, que, cuando estaban en flor, cubrieron la tierra con los pétalos blancos y parecia que habia nevado. La ilusión se llevó a su anhelo y la princesa se volvió mas alegra que nunca.
Y es por esto que desde aquella primavera hace muchos años, Mallorca revive cada año la magia de los almendros en flor..

THE ALMOND BLOSSOM STORY
A long long time ago in Mallorca, there reigned an arabian king, who fell in love and married a beautiful girl, daughter of a great lord from the North.
Their love was mutual, and the marriage was celebrated in grand style. However, the beautiful princess grew sadder day by day, with the nobody able to make her smile. They consulted magicians and wise men from all over the world, but none could find a cure for her sadness…
Until one day, when an old Nordic man told the king that the princess was longing for the white snow-covered fields of her homeland. The king then ordered thousands of almond trees to be planted outside the windows of the palace, which, when they were in blossom, covered the land with white petals. The illusion took away her longing and the princess became joyful again.
And this is why, since that spring so long ago, Mallorca relive each year the magic of the almond blossom.
