It is with regret that the Wednesday team will not be able to open the shop on Wednesday mornings due to suspension of certain members and volunteers by the current board of Akira. Members and volunteers who have supported and given up their time over many years to Akira. These volunteers have been suspended for speaking out against the current board, wanting more openness, transparency and a more democratic and less autocratic board.

PLEASE EVERONE! READ THIS!!
Good Morning. Akira Volunteers and Supporters on Friday Shop Team are in receipt of Disiplinary letters banning them from Akira for three years. It is with regret that Friday Shops will not open including the Furniture shop where no longer will collections and deliveries be organised.

In Argentina, there's a restaurant called Restobar Dickens, with a sign saying:
"We ask all our customers with all our hearts not to be upset by the number of stray dogs that may be in the restaurant.
We are a pet friendly place and we give water, food and lots of love to these sweet angels. I'm sorry if it bothers you, but they're not doing anything wrong, they're just looking for food or shelter.
