To say Mike and his team at Sun Estates Spain have been our saviours and guardian angels is an understatement.
We finally took repossession of our family villa after a nearly three year battle with the agent we had put our trust in to rent and maintain our property. How incredibly wrong we had been. With the help of a fantastic solicitor, we regained control of our property, and then began the search for who could possibly help us restore our property, and in a country where we had no existing ties or connections. Our property was in the most appalling and distressing state of repair, and our cherished holiday home now appeared to be the biggest nightmare to contend with.
A chance find through a Google search, and the faith of my Husband, led us to Mike at Sun Estates Spain, in Villamartin.
We took a trip to meet with Mike, and one of his team Tammy, in December 2025, and explained our plight. Mike immediately put us at ease and gave us confidence we could move forward with him and his team. He was very calm and reassuring, and had extensive knowledge not only of property and building matters, and all that entailed, but also of the technicalities and legality’s with property ownership in Spain.
Mike later visited us at our property, and though it was in an appalling state, he again reassured us that it could once again be a much loved and well maintained Spanish bolt hole for us all.
We returned home to the UK, and in early 2026 we began discussing plans and budgets with Mike in order to have work on our property begin. This work soon moved forward, and Mike also organised local legal matters and connections of utilities that needed taking care of since we had handed our property over to the very negligent previous agent some time ago.
Throughout the course of all work undertaken by Mike and his team, we were kept updated with photos and videos, and of any perceived changes to plans etc. Our budget with Mike remained totally in line with his initial quotation, and the timescale also remained on point. We were so impressed with the care, speed and accuracy of the entire process versus quotation of costs. Something we haven’t experienced here in the UK!
We very recently took back the keys to our lovely property, and all the family now look forward to enjoying renewed memories and time at our little Spanish home.
We all are so impressed with everything that Mike and his team have accomplished. From clearing the garden and removing vast amounts of rubbish inside the property, to repairing or replacing rusty, peeling window and door grills, chipped exterior and interior floor tiles, damp interior walls, ruined kitchens, damaged bathrooms and interior spaces, we now have a home to be proud of and safely enjoyed.
A complete re-tile of the swimming pool was also undertaken, with the replacement of the pump and shower area, and a new upper front door. This refurbishment is now helping eradicate the awful memories of our visit in December. And the quality of work undertaken is impressive.
So to sum up, we cannot say enough, or give thanks and credit enough, for Mike and his wonderful team of magic makers. We highly highly recommend Mike and his team at Sun Estates Spain, and hope the photos shown of before and after areas posted with this review go some small way to portraying how we went from a situation of disrepair and dispair, to hope and enjoyment once again.
Thanks a million to Mike and all involved with our lovely little Spanish home. We are remaining in touch with Mike and know we can call on him over time if we need help with anything in future.Such peace of mind.
