PYRITE, QUARTZ

HUANZALA MINE, HUANZALA, HUALLANCA DISTRICT, BOLOGNESI PROVINCE, ANCASH, PERU

A very remarkable specimen from the collection of Félix Sorhouet (1945-2019) that shows us various octahedral pyrite crystals disposed on a matrix with quartz. Among them, one predominant one stands out, of very good size, with an octahedral habit, beveled edges and truncated vertices. A very interesting specimen for its crystallography and fine aesthetics. The main crystal: 2,6 x 2,4 x 2,3 cm.

PIRITA, CUARZO

MINA HUANZALA, HUANZALA, DISTRITO DE HUALLANCA, PROVINCIA DE BOLOGNESI, ANCASH, PERÚ

Ejemplar muy notable procedente de la colección de Félix Sorhouet (1945-2019) y que nos muestra diversos cristales octaédricos de pirita que se disponen sobre una matriz con cuarzo. Destaca entre ellos uno predominante, de muy buen tamaño, con el hábito octaédrico pero que además presenta biseles en las aristas y vértices truncados. Un ejemplar muy interesante por su cristalografía y su estética. Cristal mayor: 2,6 x 2,4 x 2,3 cm.

HUANUNI MINE, HUANUNI, DALENCE PROVINCE, ORURO, BOLIVIA

Globular aggregate of ludlamite crystals with their classic green colour, very brilliant and disposed on a matrix with siderite, olive green in colour, accompanied by siderite and pyrite. A very aesthetic miniature. The main crystal is: 1,4 x 1,4 x 1,1 cm. 0,55 x 0,55 x 0,43 inc.

LUDLAMITA, PIRITA, SIDERITA, CUARZO

MINA HUANUNI, HUANUNI, PROVINCIA DE DALENCE, ORURO, BOLIVIA

Agregado globular de cristales de ludlamita con su clásico color verde, muy brillantes y que se disponen sobre una matriz con siderita, de color verde oliva, junto con siderita y pirita. Una miniatura muy estética. Cristal Mayor: 1,4 x 1,4 x 1,1 cm.

TOPAZ

TEPETATE, VILLA DE ARRIAGA MUNICPALITY, SAN LUIS POTOSI, MEXICO

In this miniature, we can enjoy a predominant topaz crystal, richly faceted and with an exceptional transparence. The color is difficult to be defined, as it ranges from orange to pink depending on the incident light. It is accompanied on a matrix by another minor topaz crystal.

En esta miniatura podemos disfrutar de un cristal de topacio predominante, ricamente facetado, y con una transparencia excepcional. El color cuesta definir ya que según la luz presenta unas tonalidades anaranjadas a rosadas. Se acompaña en matriz de otro pequeño cristal.

This specimen combines numerous lanceolated tabular crystals of axinite-(Mn) (identified by analysis) with high luster and transparence. They are accompanied by aggregates of fine, prismatic, bright green epidote crystals. An aesthetic specimen.

Specimen formed by various globular aggregates of stellerite disposed in a very aesthetic and aerial way on a matrix formed by small crystals of albite and with quartz. These Mexican specimens can be considered among the best representatives of this species belonging to the zeolites.

Ejemplar formado por diversos agregados globulares de estellerita que se disponen de forma muy estética y aérea sobre una matriz formada por pequeños cristales de albita y cuarzo. Estos ejemplares mexicanos se pueden considerar entre los mejores representantes de esta especie perteneciente a las zeolitas.

Excellent beryl crystals, of the emerald variety, with a very uniform and characteristic color, transparency and with very well defined hexagonal prism faces, truncated by the pinacoids and pointing faces of the dipyramid. they are arranged on a matrix of calcite and quartz. A true gem from this Colombian locality. The main crystal is: 0,7 x 0,6 x 0,6 cm. 0,28 x 0,24 x 0,24 inc.

BERILO VAR. ESMERALDA CUARZO CALCITA

MINA PEÑA BLANCA, MUNICIPIO DE SAN PABLO DE BORBUR, PROVINCIA OESTE BOYACÁ, DEPARTAMENTO DE BOYACÁ, COLOMBIA

Excelentes cristales de berilo, de la variedad esmeralda, con un color muy uniforme y característico, transparencia y con las caras del prisma hexagonal muy definidas, truncadas por los pinacoides y apuntando caras de la bipirámide. se disponen sobre una matriz de calcita y cuarzo. Una verdadera gema procedente de esta localidad colombiana. Cristal mayor: 0,7 x 0,6 x 0,6 cm.

AZURITE, MALACHITE

COPPER QUEEN MINE, (HALERO MINE), BISBEE, WARREN DISTRICT, MULE MTS, COCHISE CO., ARIZONA, USA

A classic specimen and currently rather uncommon on the market, representative of the secondary copper mineralization from the Bisbee area. The piece was acquired in 1984 and comes from a historical collection, a fact that adds both documentary and provenance value. On a matrix covered with green globular aggregates of malachite, several well-defined spherical aggregates of azurite have developed, showing an intense blue color strongly contrasted against the greenish background. The combination of both species creates a balanced and very typical aesthetic for this locality.

AZURITA, MALAQUITA

MINA COPPER QUEEN, (MINA HALERO), BISBEE, DISTRITO WARREN, MULE MTS, COCHISE CO., ARIZONA, ESTADOS UNIDOS

Ejemplar clásico y actualmente poco frecuente en el mercado, representativo de la mineralogía secundaria de cobre de la zona de Bisbee. La pieza fue adquirida en 1984 y procede de una colección histórica, hecho que añade valor documental y de procedencia. Sobre una matriz recubierta por agregados globulares de malaquita verde se desarrollan varios agregados esféricos de azurita, bien definidos y de color azul intenso, claramente contrastado contra el fondo verdoso. La combinación de ambas especies genera una estética equilibrada y muy típica de este yacimiento.
