Self-sufficient way of life. Our family gets most part of the food from local nature. We harvest different kind of berries, natural herbs and mushrooms from local area. Fish from a local lakes and rivers, moose meat from local forests. Reindeer meat, hearts, tongues, blood and other edible parts of our family own reindeer. These ingredients we also use, when our guests come to visit us or cook with us to our reindeer farm.

Last week spent again few days learning new things at . This time went to the forest to pick up berries on first day and next couple days cooked starters, main courses and desserts using different wild foods in every dishes. So tasty days again we had😋

Yesterday had fair day in Partakko. Weather was great and people were happy. Fair were part of and was also visiting there.

Guobbarat - Mushrooms - Sienet 🍄‍🟫🍲

Last week had again Expert of natural delicacies education days in Kittilä. On that time on our list were mushrooms. First day went to the forest and found many different kind of mushrooms: milk-caps, russulas, gypsy mushrooms and hedgehog mushrooms. During those days we made food of mushrooms next to the fire in grill hut and indoor kitchen. First starters, then main dish and dessert, in every dish were different mushrooms used as ingredients. What a wonderful and useful days we again had🙌😊 Learnt much!

Geassedoaimmat - Summer things - Kesähommia 🌸

During last few weeks spent time at the nature picking cloudberries and some wild plants. Of rosebay willowherbs made first time some rosebay willowherb sugar. Enjoyed time and landscapes.

This summer it has been raining every now and then, which is good for the nature, good for the plants and good for the reindeer. Already on July seen many mushrooms popping up. Now waiting for other berries and mushrooms to be ready to harvest.
