The factory Silas Tonttukylä
Hidden in the forests of Finland, between pine, birch and spruce trees at a small lake, is "Silas Tonttukylä", the workshop of the Tonttus. For many generations the Tonttus have helped Santa Claus give joy to people at Christmas time. Before the Tonttus were Santa Claus' little elves, they lived as good spirits on people's farms, but when people changed their lifestyle, the Tonttus moved north and found the land of Santa Claus. The Tonttu Uwe, known to his friends also "Silas", made his home in Kuhmo, a cozy town not far from the home of Santa Claus. He has now lived in Kuhmo for several years with his family and makes Tonttu figurines and many other beautiful gifts that are inspired by Finnish culture and nature. Each piece is hand crafted and brings a cheerful and homely atmosphere to your home. Tonttu Uwe hopes, that you enjoy his craftsmanship.
