A little something new for Christmas 🤍

A sweet reusable gift bag made from natural linen, finished with a soft white linen ruffle and vintage-style cotton lace tie.

On the front, I’ve hand embroidered a tiny Christmas tree wrapped in a deep red garland, with little French knots scattered around it like falling snow.

Measuring approximately 20 × 20 cm, it’s just the right size for a special little present — chocolates, jewellery, perfume, a candle or any of those smaller treasures tucked beneath the tree.

And rather than disappearing with the wrapping paper on Christmas morning, it can be brought out and used again year after year. 🎄

A little woodland fox for the beginning of my favourite season. 🦊

Hand embroidered onto beautiful natural linen, surrounded by tiny autumnal sprigs in warm russet and soft green, and finished with a wonderfully oversized red gingham linen bow tie.

Simple, rustic and full of those little hand-stitched details I love — perfect for bringing a touch of cosy cottage autumn into the home, and lovely enough to carry right through into Christmas. ❤️

A little more Cottage Christmas 🤍🌲

The newest cushion from my Cottage Christmas Collection.

Made from beautiful white linen, with a little Christmas tree embroidered entirely by hand in soft, muted greens and dusty pink, surrounded by tiny French-knot snowflakes. Finished with my signature oversized linen bow tie.

Quiet, simple Christmas decorating with just a little touch of nostalgia. 🪡🤍

🎄 A little more Cottage Christmas…

This year I wanted to make some pieces that become part of Christmas year after year, rather than something used once and thrown away.

So here is the newest addition to my Cottage Christmas Collection — a reusable linen Christmas gift bag, handmade in natural linen with a soft red checked and pink trim, long linen ties and a small hand embroidered Christmas tree surrounded by falling snow. 🪡🤍

Measuring approximately 28 × 32 cm, they're a lovely size for filling with Christmas treasures and bringing out again every December.

Happy Sunday 🤍

I hope everyone is enjoying a peaceful Sunday.

This week has reminded me that chronic illness doesn't particularly care about the plans we make! So a few plans have been altered, and I'm moving a little more slowly than I'd hoped.

But I'm pottering away regardless, needle and thread in hand, and watching the first pieces of my Cottage Christmas collection slowly come to life. 🪡🌲

Sometimes slower is simply the pace we need.

From our very first rentrée in France in 2020 to today. ❤️

I've been a little quiet here lately, enjoying the last few days of the summer holidays with these two before school began again.

And just like that, they're back — a little bigger than they were on that first French school morning! 🥹

Which means it's back to work properly for me too. Autumn and Christmas are always my busiest and favourite season in the atelier, and I'm hoping to have lots of new pieces appearing in the shop over the coming weeks. 🍂🪡🎄

Summer has been hot and dry and I'm very ready for cosy season. ❤️

The first little hint of Christmas… 🎄

I know, I know — it’s still August. But Christmas sewing has quietly begun in my little workshop.

The first is this soft neutral gingham cushion, embroidered with a tiny robin sitting beneath a sprig of mistletoe, tied with a wandering red bow.

Simple, rustic and just Christmassy enough. 🤍

Handmade here in rural France, from linen and natural fabrics.

🍂 A little autumn has arrived at L’Atelier de Teresa 🍂

The first tiny pumpkin of the season, hand
embroidered onto soft white linen and surrounded by scattered sprigs in deep berry and faded green.

I wanted this one to feel like those first quiet hints of autumn — cooler mornings, changing hedgerows and the garden beginning to soften after summer. Nothing too orange, nothing too Halloween… just a small nod towards the loveliest season. 🤎

Finished with an oversized linen bow and made slowly, one stitch at a time.

A little bit of late summer put away for winter. ❤️

The children rode their bikes out to collect blackberries for me this week. Usually they become jam or pies, but this year I decided to do something a little different.

I made a simple blackberry coulis and tucked it away in the freezer for the colder months — ready to spoon over fromage blanc with a little granola for lovely breakfasts, or for one of those quick puddings when something sweet is needed.

There is something so satisfying about gathering what is growing around us now and knowing we'll still be enjoying it in the middle of winter.

Although judging by the amount that has already disappeared with fromage blanc and granola, I'm not entirely convinced it will make it that far. 😂❤️
