🌿 Sunshine on the Washing Line 🌿

One of my favourite scents in the world is freshly washed linen dried outside on a warm summer day.
The smell of sunshine, clean cotton, green grass and a gentle breeze drifting through the garden.

That simple pleasure inspired this new hand embroidered cushion.

A tiny washing line strung between lavender bushes, a little summer dress drying in the sun, tiny socks dancing in the breeze, and a small tea towel with a stitched heart tucked amongst the washing. 💙

Hand embroidered on linen and finished with a soft powder blue ruffle and bow.

I've been a little quiet here lately.

Life has been full of ordinary things — tending the garden, baking, sewing, planting summer flowers and enjoying the first roses of the season.

Behind the scenes I've also been working steadily on new pieces for the shop, slowly building collections for the months ahead.

I sometimes think the most meaningful work happens quietly, stitch by stitch, long before it ever appears in a listing.

For now, I'm simply enjoying these early summer days, gathering inspiration from the garden and filling baskets, shelves and sketchbooks with ideas for autumn and Christmas.

A quiet little pair finished this week 🌸🩵

Two custom embroidered dolls made as a special order — one in soft pale blue, the other in dusty blush pink.

Each one is stitched slowly by hand using linen, cotton and layered embroidery inspired by wildflowers, cottage gardens and gentle countryside colours.

I think they turned out rather sweet ✨

34°C today, so I’ve been hiding from the sun a little and taking things slowly while my head behaves itself ☀️🌿

But the strawberries certainly didn’t wait 😄

The kitchen has been full of summer these past few days — bowls and bowls of strawberries turned into little jars of jam, freezer crumbles for winter evenings and sweet pastries for the weekend.

And some apricot pies ready for tomorrow’s Bank Holiday breakfast 🍓🥧🌸

A soft terracotta linen bow cushion with delicate wildflower embroidery, paired with a ruffled cream-and-terracotta cushion inspired by summer fields and cottage gardens.
