On May 7, 1954, after 57 days of fighting, the entrenched camp of Dien Bien Phu fell, resulting in the capture of nearly 12,000 brave soldiers, two-thirds of whom would not return, victims of the cruelty of their communist captors. This defeat marked the beginning of France's withdrawal from Indochina. Seventy-two years later, to the day, this small update presents some insignia and medals related to these events.
