Hello everyone! 🪺🐰💜🐣
Easter is next weekend, and for the occasion I have prepared a simple tutorial for knitting Easter eggs.
For this toy, I chose fluffy yarn - the increases and decreases are less visible on it, so the fabric looks smoother and neater. Besides, this yarn is lighter in weight, which means the finished eggs can not only be used in your decor, but also, for example, hung on branches.
Below is the full knitting process.
Cast on 6 sts + 1 st to join in the round. Set BOR.
Round 1: knit all sts.
Round 2: work with yo: k1, yo - repeat to end of round. 12 sts on the needles.
Round 3: work without increases.
Round 4: work with yo: k1, yo, k1 - repeat to end of round. 18 sts.
Round 5: work without increases.
Round 6: work with yo: yo, k3 - repeat to end of round. 24 sts.
Round 7: work without increases.
Round 8: work with yo: k2, yo, k2 - repeat to end of round. 30 sts.
Then work 6 rounds without increases.
Move on to the decreases.
Round 15: k2tog, k3 - repeat to end of round. 24 sts.
Round 16: work without decreases.
Round 17: k1, k2tog, k1 - repeat to end of round. 18 sts.
Rounds 18 and 19: work without decreases.
Stuff the egg with stuffing.
Round 20: k2tog, k1 - repeat to end of round. 12 sts.
Round 21: work without decreases.
Round 22: work all stitches k2tog. 6 sts.
Then pass 5 sts one after another over the 1st stitch in the round.
Weave in the ends.
And that’s it - your Easter egg is ready.
It takes only about 10 minutes to knit. You can decorate the finished eggs with beads or embroidery.
