For the first time in Paris, we are delighted to welcome SUZUSAN CIRCLE MARKET to Biën;.⁠
⁠
Rooted in Arimatsu, Japan, suzusan works with shibori, a traditional Japanese textile technique that has been passed down in the region for over 400 years.⁠
⁠
Throughout the creative process, subtle variations in colour, small irregularities and unexpected patterns naturally emerge. Some pieces do not become part of the final collection, while others are designs that have never been released.⁠
⁠
Rather than leaving these pieces unseen, SUZUSAN CIRCLE MARKET gives them a new life — creating a new cycle between artisans and those who cherish their creations.⁠

Until September 26, Takazawa from Takazawa Candles and Shimatani from Syouryu will be at the exhibition.

You’ll have the opportunity to see a demonstration of the orins (Japanese singing bowls), experience a healing session, and explore the materials used to make traditional Japanese candles.

We’d love for you to take this opportunity to come by, have a chat, and experience the exhibition for yourself.

For Paris Design Week 2026, Biën; presents « THE ART OF JAPANESE SCENTS » , an exhibition exploring Japanese fragrance culture through incense, craftsmanship, and objects associated with scent.⁠
⁠
In Japan, fragrance has long been appreciated not only for its aroma, but also as a way to mark the passage of time, shape an atmosphere, and heighten the senses.⁠
⁠
Bringing together contemporary Japanese incense brands and artisans working in ceramics and metalwork, the exhibition explores the many ways scent can be experienced — through incense, vessels, incense holders, and objects created around the ritual of fragrance.⁠

SCENTED SACHET WORKSHOP WITH KUNJUDO

As part of THE ART OF JAPANESE SCENTS, Kunjudo invites you to discover the traditional Japanese art of scented sachets.

Visitors will be able to create their own traditional scented sachet free of charge, blending a selection of aromatic ingredients according to their personal preferences, and take their creation home with them.

The workshop is free and open to everyone, with no reservation required.
