🎸 Flashback to the French Underground Scene!
Formed in 1967 as The Bayens, a group of Parisian teens rocked local clubs with R&B covers before transforming into Acanthus—a bold, psychedelic prog-rock band inspired by Nietzsche and Magma.

They recorded a visionary rock opera Tryphasys in 1970, but the album was shelved and the band dissolved after industry setbacks. Before disbanding, they scored cult film Le Frisson des Vampires 🎬

🌿 Tryphasys—lost for decades—is finally out on Monster Mélodies, 54 years later. A forgotten gem, reborn.

Formé en 1967 sous le nom The Bayens, un groupe d’ados parisiens enflammait les clubs avec des reprises R&B avant de devenir Acanthus—un groupe de rock progressif psychédélique audacieux, influencé par Nietzsche et Magma.

En 1970, ils enregistrent l’opéra rock visionnaire Tryphasys, mais l’album est mis de côté et le groupe se dissout après plusieurs désillusions. Avant leur séparation, ils signent la BO du film culte Le Frisson des Vampires 🎬

🌿 Tryphasys, perdu pendant des décennies, ressort enfin chez Monster Mélodies, 54 ans plus t**d. Un bijou oublié, enfin révélé.
