🥾📚 Join us this Sunday for a day of nature, history, and books!

📍 Meet us at Gare du Nord for the 11:04 train to Seugy.

We’ll enjoy a gentle walk along the Blanche de Castille trail to the beautiful Royaumont Abbey, where we’ll picnic and explore one of the region’s most remarkable historic sites.

And because one abbey is never enough, we’ll finish the day with a visit to a new Abbey — Brian’s brand-new (and still delightfully unfinished) bookshop in Boran-sur-Oise! 📖🍷 Join us for an apéro, a sneak peek behind the scenes, and help celebrate the adventure before the paint is even dry.

With warm weather in the forecast, we’ll be taking things at a relaxed pace and simply enjoying the day together.

🥪 Bring a picnic, plenty of water, and sun protection.

📚✨ ABBEY BOOK CLUB — [Our May Read] ✨📚

We’re diving into Veronica by Mary Gaitskill for our next book club gathering.

A piercing and deeply reflective exploration of memory, mortality, beauty, and the fragile ways we come to understand both ourselves and others.

Through the shifting lens of remembrance, beneath its sharp observations on youth, glamour, and desire lies a profound meditation on loss, human vulnerability, and the quiet tragedies of recognition — the unsettling realization that the deepest truths about love, suffering, and connection are often understood only in retrospect.

📚✨ ABBEY BOOK CLUB — [Our April Read] ✨📚

We’re diving into Nausea by Jean-Paul Sartre for our next book club pick.

A haunting exploration of existence, identity, and the unsettling weight of simply being.

Set against the quiet backdrop of a French town, Nausea invites you to question meaning, routine, and the stories we tell ourselves to feel grounded. A deeply introspective and thought-provoking read.

We are delighted to announce our pick for The Abbey Book Club!

Our February read is Surfacing by Margaret Atwood—a story by the well-known Canadian author that starts as a murder mystery but reveals itself to be about selfhood and identity, about travelling into the deepest crooks of our minds.

Joining the bookclub is free. We only ask for a small donation to the location that is so kind to host us in form of purchasing a beverage.

We meet on Thursday February 12th at the store at 7 pm and will walk just around the corner to the usual location together.
