"squaring" on a cotton plant refers to the development of small, triangular flower buds called squares, which mark the transition from vegetative growth to reproduction. The phrase "squaring out" or reaching "cutout" means the plant has stopped producing new main stem growth and new fruiting sites, having set the final group of bolls that will contribute to the harvest"

Thank you so much to Trevor Blackman from the UK 🇬🇧 for such an awesome interview and time. If you have time to tune into the podcast on Maritime Radio 96.5FM tomorrow, June 14th at 8am EST, please do. It's a check in..

So happy to have met him on 125th street where he supported and took a cotton reclamation crowne to England - where the confrontational-healing continues -

Having spent 90 days in London/ working at Old Spitalfield Market a couple of years ago - it was quite a shock to realize that so many Afro Brits felt deep compassion for the his/herstory of our ancestral toilings in the cotton fields.

So grateful to see and hear that our American trauma translates overseas and that we can bring our shared his/her stories together and discuss and heal international trauma - and most specifically with the cotton.

Trevor Blackman is a beautiful brother, an incredible spirit with a drive and enthusiasm that is so important in the community in the USA and abroad.

Be sure to tune in!

Much love and gratitude 🙏🏿
Bro.
