How do we protect a product and its design?
There is no many ways to make sure no one will take advantage of a design innovation: a patent.

It is the best way to ensure protection for a new innovation even in design. Sometimes for one product there are even several patents to protect all aspects. It is the case of Apple who have more than 5,000 patents for the iPhone. As for Nespresso, they have around 1,700 patents.

Apple must be one of the firms that mostly invest into design. The goal is to offer a product that is both technically perfect but tthat you want to buy because it is beautiful. They think about each detail to make the mobile phone be nice to touch (aluminium), pleasant to use (user-friendly), lovely to see (black color, curved shape)... Even the video make us desire the new iPhone with slow music, a low tone and impressive images.
And it is only DESIGN!

To design iPhone 7, we reexamined and refined every element. Achieving its beautiful, high-gloss black finish even required a new process.
